Man, this kind of stuff gets complicated.

So we know they need to get rid of it and they know we want it before it's too late. Who flinches first? Us buying or them selling?

They'll try and blow as much out at the cons as they can. We haven't heard or seen any more of the Only Human sets or the Heartwrencher with Dreadnok Ground Assault set so I'm skeptical that those will see release. But then I was skeptical on those before this whole mess.

They have to be in production both the TF and Joe con sets already. Probably the membership figures too. I'm guessing but I agree with Hypno, that anything they didn't plan on being delivered before 2017 isn't happening now.

Should be a fun Club panel this year.

Well, I hope Hasbro steps up and does something with G.I. Joe beyond the one Kindle figure. I haven't bothered with the Club in a long time. They are not a good business and have never cared about the fanbase. The only bummer is the loss of some good figures, if no one else picks up the license to exclusives. They do some things well, but they also do a lot of things poorly.

I really would be surprised if they did a panel. There is not much point, honestly.

I'm not broken hearted about Fun Pub losing the license if this is what is happening. It's not the mistakes, it not acknowledging the mistakes, not fixing the mistakes, and many times not owning up to the mistakes. It was also the snails pace at which they evolved. While organizations smaller than theirs went electronic years prior, they held on to that fax machine. Then again, we started wishing the fax machine was still an option after the last couple of years. I had some great times at their conventions. And they did create some fantastic exclusives along with a few turds. In the end, it is just time to roll the dice on a new way of doing things.

They've had 15 years to get it right.

I think overall the product that they've put out iS great. But a business is more than its products.

EVERY.
SINGLE.
OTHER.
PART.
STINKS.

When every other aspect of the business stinks, and its nearly always an unpleasant experience, you get tired of supporting it, regardless of products. I pulled out my support years ago, and the recent Dallas con was my last straw with them.

The whole credit card fiasco, including the part they scolded us for not having our information secure (which was total bull crap and pathetic attempt to put blame on others for their gross incompetence), is the main reason why I refuse to given them my updated information to do future business. They have still not shown to have evolved from that process (there is a thing called paypal they could use).

The final nail for me is when I went unregistered to the convention in Indianapolis. A red headed step child from a third world country would have been treated far better than the experience I got. I am still not over it.

Yeeeeep!

In the past Ive been able to renew my membership at the convention, but this time for some reason it was an 'impossible'. Go to it on the website, then wait till after the con and give us a few days to get on it.

Im in front of you with money. You know me. Ive been a ten+ year member, and a dealer for many event of yours.

That was it. Im done with those "LASER BLAST" after that.

Never bought a Club figure. Didn't think they were worth the price premium.

I dont really follow the club much, were they actually going to make a heartwrencher and other dreadnok set? were there any moc ups or concept drawings or anything shown?

I'm not sure that's a fair comparison for two reasons. One -- the Club doesn't try to sell their stuff at Walmart and Target. Two -- we don't know the nature of the agreement between Hasbro and the Club. It might allow for this.

If the Club is losing the license, I'm sure they won't want to have to deal with leftover merchandise. I would expect to see some clearance sales.

On the other hand, consider this. I suspect any number of us have bought or sold G.I. Joe, and other copyrighted merchandise, on eBay. None of us have ever entered into agreements with Hasbro, or Bandai, or Mattel, or Lego, or any other company to sell the stuff we have.

I think regarding any of this, we're just going to have to wait and see. I've heard two entirely different reports about what's going on, both from reliable sources, but both going in quite different directions, so I'm not prepared to repeat either one of them.

I'll just add this -- I would hate to see the Club and Convention end. Has FunPub made some mistakes? Yes. Has FunPub turned out some awesome exclusive merchandise over the years? Yes. But -- I think they've done a lot more, especially in recent years, to keep interest in G.I. Joe up than Hasbro has.

I'm not convinced Hasbro gives a damn about G.I. Joe anymore other than the next movies. Beyond the Club, there's not much other than Larry Hama's Real American Hero comic through IDW, and thank God for it. The meager product line offered to Toys "R" Us, regardless of how cool some of it may be, just doesn't amount to much.

From a business standpoint, I can understand Hasbro wanting to focus on Star Wars and Marvel. Those are both hot properties these days. But that doesn't do any favors to Joe fans. And I don't think an internally-run Club would amount to much of anything, any more than the current Hasbro product line does.

Faults aside, I really do believe that the Club is keeping some "organized" interest in G.I. Joe alive, that wouldn't otherwise exist.

Just my thoughts on it.
