I continue to be astounded at how well the design team is taking existing tooling and making these figures...it's the epitome of what the Joe customizing community has been doing...

Barbecue uses mostly Snow Job/Wild Weasel, yet with new lower legs, the added accessories and the new head, you can't even tell.

Snow Serpent uses a lot of the Arctic Snake Eyes parts, but again, add on all that fur collar goodness and who can even tell?

The Anniversary line has managed to do something that G.I. Joe hasn't been able to do for twenty-five years, and that's to make me a cartoon fan. I wasn't a big Sunbow guy back in the day, and I've always preferred the comic mythos, but all of these cartoon-favorite figures who look so awesome together is just converting me as the line goes on. I now find myself itching for an Alpine to go with Bazooka and an Airtight, Dusty, and Footloose to go with Bazooka (not to mention Quick Kick) and none of these guys were figures I especially cared about previously.

Great stuff.

Here's hoping we get a future B.A.T. release with that awesome red facemask from the cartoon! :D

I'm not really surprised there are a lot fewer accessories with this B.A.T. compared to what was shown at Toy Fair, but I'm sure we'll be seeing those battle damaged parts somewhere down the line.

Justin

So, is the BAT being released as two different versions or is that just meant to show off his extra parts? If it isn't coming with the damaged parts and the spores, I bet we'll see those in a comic pack release.

overall, I think I might just preorder this wave. That Snow Serpent looks amazing! Can't wait to see how an Alley Viper turns out.

Again, the Cobras are the best figures in the wave. In general, I like them all. Not a huge fan of Bazooka, but I always thought that shirt screamed "shoot at me!" so maybe that's why I don't like it. I never liked his original figure, either. The Snow Serpent and BAT are very impressive. Barbecue has no use in my collection, but I still like this figure.

Great figure, all of them are must-haves for me; but something is bugging me about Bazooka, is it just me, or is his helmet on backwards? If it is, then it would be fitting for the way he was portrayed in the cartoon, hopefully they'll make an Alpine to help him out.

Is it just me or does that LAW of Bazooka's look like it shoots or the missile comes out? I'm wondering what the backpack looks like to find out for sure.

Some things bug me, but over all these look great. I think I'm in the same boat with more here about black Storm Shadow. It just doesn't fit the character IMO. Would have been a bigger hit, if they when with Ninja-Ku or Black Dragon Ninja. Can't win them all though.

TNI has another pic that shows them sans accessories. Smaller, but interesting nonetheless.

I LOVE that Bazooka has removable rockets and that his launcher fits onto his backpack. Friggin' awesome.

I'm gonna go ahead and agree that BBQ's helmet isn't removable, but with the 25th line headswaps are so easy that that doesn't bother me much. I may try and make the helmet removable, but if anything I can just find a decent head for him and swap them around. Hawk is great, and the BAT and Serpent are making me reconsider my limits on army builders. Sooo nice.

LOVE these figures. '86 Hawk has been one of my favorite figures since I got him back when he came out. I'm really loving all of these (don't care about Storm Shadow). The prototypes tend to look a bit rougher then the actual production pieces, so I'm not all that worried about it. If anything I'll either glue it down or sculpt a new collar. Great, Great stuff.

I like how it looks like bazooka's bazooka can really bazook.

err fire.

Where is the arctic snake eyes that people are referencing for the snow serpent?

Okay, of the ones I was curious about...

Bazooka -- this has to be a prototype. That "14" is just way too sloppy not to be. As I had a hunch, it's not going to be easy to get that "14" around the mid-torso articulation in any case.

Barbecue -- impossible to tell from this picture if the helmet is removable, but if one considers the size of the helmet/head shown, then I personally suspect it is NOT, since if it were, he'd have a really tiny human head.

B.A.T. -- Okay, I actually like this one. Sure, it's a 25th Anniversary take on the original B.A.T., and we're getting B.A.T.s in the traditional style in this year's Convention Set, but I tend to be a little more forgiving format-wise when it comes to the Androids. I have a decent number of B.A.T. v.3's, v.4's, and v.5's here. Might have to snag this one when he comes out. Call him the B.A.T. v.1.1 or something... ;-) :-D

Regarding some of the other comments -- wouldn't be a BIT surprised to see them use the BBQ body for Airtight, and if they ever do get around to an Alley-Viper -- which color scheme? There's been so many, and given how impressive some of the later ones were in the traditional format, do you REALLY want ol' bright orange-and-blue? 8-O

Granted, I actually liked the yellow and black myself... :-D
