Thank you all so much, it is okay we will be back better than ever! We will address our mistakes and fix them and improve on what we did right. We got a ton of great amazing new fans, and have been featured on practically every big toy sight out there. We can not say enough how proud, and honored we are at the amount of love and support this new toy line received. Look for a update tomorrow that will give a special gift to all of our backers, we will rise from the ashes and be bigger and stronger than ever, look for our return in Spring of 2017
Thank you all!
Jason & Brandon

I said it awhile back, they are too cartoony looking for me. they look good, but are of no use to me at all. ive been collecting for almost 30 years and these just wouldn't fit in any way with all my other figures from many various lines, its the same reason I don't collect any anime style figures or those animated style star wars figures they had for the cartoons.

For me personally, I have zero connection to the source material and, to be honest, from what I've read about it, I'm not really interested in getting more acquainted with the source material. Not saying it's bad or anything, just not something I found interesting.

Having said that, my primary interest in this would've been all about the figures themselves. The stylized designs turned me off on that front.

I have a very wide range of figures in my collection. I have figures that have less than realistic sculpts, but they are very much characters that I have a connection with. I also have figures that are characters I have no connection to, but they are realistic enough sculpts to fit in with the rest of the figures. These just don't fit within my collection, in any way.

I think GD and nwp nailed it. Most people don't know the comic enough to buy this line for their likeness. So it really is a stand-alone toy decision for most. I'm in the camp that finds the idea intriguing, but wasn't sold on the figure design. It's not that I'm opposed to armies of apes. It's that these figures would not go with my existing style.

But that's not helpful to them, because that means different toys than what they've designed.

If starting from square one, I would try my damnedest to make them look like they could fit in with some existing lines. That's one reason why HACKS have been so successful. If they were the same toy and the same designers. but creating an all new unique scale or style, it would have had a hard time too.

Even these designs could work for what I'm saying, if they were scaled down a bit. But being too big and too anime styled were both strikes for me.

It simply did not fit in with anything else I collect.

Copying an Fb post from The Plastic Empire:
Hey everybody, we just wanted to reach out and talk about a project we really believe in. Animal Warriors of The Kingdom, this is a toy line based off a comic series by Jason Bienvenu. He launched a kickstarter to fund the action figure line but, unfortunately, it wasn't funded. Now in support of him and the future kickstarter relaunch (Spring 2017), we would like to start to get that buzz going early.
Jason has been gracious enough to offer his comic, The Kingdom for FREE in digital format. This is 177 pages FREE!!! The book can be downloaded here FREE:
https://gumroad.com/l/KingVol01/kingvol01kick
I would please ask:
1. SHARE this with friends, groups, children and adults. It is FREE!! Kids love their tablets and technology in this day and age, so give them a taste of what we grew up with on their platforms, then once that interest is sparked, give them our old tried and true format, the ACTION FIGURES!!! Get kids involved again, grow the next IP for our kids to get behind and follow. Create the next generation of "FANS".
2. SUPPORT, please support a small budding company, help them get off the ground and to grow, this IP is deep, it's well thought out and there's years of awesome things to come before the first wave is even launched.
3. Stay tuned for the next kickstarter. We will be posting info as it comes up here on our page and you can also LIKE The Animal Warriors of The Kingdom page which we tagged earlier in this post. They of course will keep you updated as well.
4. Again PLEASE, SHARE and LIKE their page.
5. SHARE this with your children as well, if you don't have children but, have children in your life, SHARE it with them. Jason wants this to be for collectors as well as children. He isn't looking to make this a one off, he wants this to be something nostalgic for future generations. Let's help support that ideology and that goal.
For more details on the Toy line and the Comic books check out their website:
https://jason-bienvenu-eq90.squarespace.com/
Also check out their original Kickstarter for an even deeper look at the line and some of the future waves:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/th ... he-kingdom
Jason, it has been an honor getting to know you and becoming a friend. We wish you success and we will be there to help you succeed in any way we can. We love your passion, vision and love for what you do!

I thought they were really cool and would have gone in at the $50-$100 level if I was not currently remodeling a kitchen along with an AC system on the fritz.

For me, these were a victim of the new reality of being a toy collector. A few years back, if I had walked into a TRU and saw these on the shelf in the $5-$10 price range, I would have bought at least one to check it out. And, knowing me, I would have went back and got more.

Now days, I have to plunk down $20 a figure on a promise that, maybe, in two years I'll get the product. It's not that I can't afford that, but a figure has to really grab my attention to get me to pay that much. And, I'm too impatient to wait.

I'll be honest - I'm not a fan of these Kickstarter campaigns. I know its allowing a lot of little guys to do some amazing things that we wouldn't see otherwise. But, it reminds me of a lot of bad things I've seen happened to the model railroading community over the last 20 years.

To be fair, though; nobody's defaulted on an action figure campaign yet and nobody's gone silent and giving the appearance of defaulting. That seems to only be a big risk in the KS video games field. I'm sure it'll happen eventually, but I don't see any reasonable evidence to fear it just yet.

This. I've seen a lot of cool concepts and seeing the ones come through to fruition have been awesome like the HACKS and MTF. But toy buying and collecting have always been a gotta have it right now thing for me and I need to see it in person to want it. I don't even like ordering online and having to wait for a purchase to be mailed, I really don't want to make a promise to pay for something that will possibly come a year or more after seeing it. And those purchases I do make online its because I've seen the product in stores and didn't bite or couldn't find the exact piece I was looking for.

You guys may well be pushed out of the hobby soon if you stick to your guns on that point.

Yep. Hobbies evolve. Collectors evolve. If it gets to the point it's no longer fun, I find something else. For now, there's still enough for me to enjoy.

As for these guys, I hope they get produced one day. If not, it will be another run of toys you see pictures of on the Internet and wonder what it would have been like to see them produced.

.....like the Sigma 6 gorilla *sniff*

OK, I'm pretty much there now only springing for new stuff when they hit the clearance rack. This really isn't the hobby for me anymore and I know it. Marauder figures are 13 bucks and they come with no accessories and look incomplete without all the extra stuff to buy for them. HACKS start around 20 for a spartan that is a playable, usable figure out of the box, 15 if I want a blank artist model to customize. I completely understand there are costs in getting these made and they are of high quality and super poseable are about the greatest things ever made to read the reviews. But as a man in his mid thirties with a wife and two kids and paying a mortgage, these are not for me. I had the hardest time wrapping my head around 7-8 dollars for the 25th single packs years ago when that used to get me two figures in the last days of o-rings. I simply cannot comprehend promising money to these guys to make their dream toys and then sit and wait. And if you like their dream toys that you helped fund, then you can buy more at regular price that is well over what many people make for an hourly wage. But honestly to all of these guys, good luck in getting your dreams off the ground.
