I can understand discriminating collectors not liking the t crotch older figures but even they , let alone the modern articulation figures they are packed with , have "custom project value" at $1.99.

As "value" figures go I can't think of a better option that's brand new on the pegs. Sure you could buy World Peacekeepers / Power Team Elite online but I don't think they are similarly priced in stores (if you can even find them). Maybe those 4"'unbranded upsized mega construx soldier figures are a better deal...

I use Corps! For more of my customs than anything else right now. I made a connect piece that allows the tchotchkes torsos to work with the new style legs

Got back to Ollie's and decided to snap a pic of the Corps on the shelves.

About half or more are Puma and Snakebite.

EDIT: it's sideways. Why is it sideways?

Yay, when I've had the money I've not been able to get the roomies to go check our local one. And now I'm broke again.

Where did you find the upsized mega construx figs - how do I search for them? Can't seem to find anything like that but would be interested as the smaller / lego-sized ones always looked like a great source of new characters and accessories - if only they were 1:18!

They aren't literally up sized Mega Construx figures. They are 1:18th scale generic soldiers that have similar construction to Mega figures ( i say that primarily due to the waist construction). Personally i think they are a good custom base if you like desert camo soldiers .

Which i don't .

I keep thinking of grabbing a few of these when I have some spare cash.

Ah - thanks for the clarification. Yeah I've been looking at those for a while too. From what I can tell, those are actually bootlegs of the original Hiya 1:18 OurWar series. I have the original release of those (7 different soldiers - squad leader, SAW gunner, grenadier, assault member, sniper, anti-armor specialist, and medic). They are pretty great - they retain some of the best "functional articulation" for a geared up soldier with removable vest and backpack I've seen in a long time. (A lot of decently articulated figs on the market - but only some can actually move decently because of the sculpt getting in the way).

I just wasn't sure if these knock-off ones would retain the quality of the original (e.g. I've seen quite a few with odd/missing paint apps). My only gripe with the originals was the headsculpts - pretty plain and lacking in detail.

Did you order these on Amazon or find them in stores? I've never seen them before, but am interested.

Thanks!

I don't watch the 1:18th market as closely as I did a decade ago but , as far as "budget" figures are concerned, the
Our War ko's are 1 of 3 4" lines that really give you customizing value for your dollar.

The modern Lanard Corps figures and Power Team Elite are the other 2 . They are like the spiritual successors to the Remco and Lanard figures from the 80's but better (well maybe not better than Remco but you get the point).

If the Our War KO's came in another color I'd have bought some. I just have no conceivable use for desert camo soldiers at the moment.

The ones I've been thinking about have been through Ebay.
