Imo, that is a turn for the worse because as time passes, what is "modern" is relative and the phrase will be just as outdated as "new sculpt."

This lack of forward thinking is how we ended up with the postmodern art era.

If we define sculpting style by subheaders, it becomes a bit clearer:

-ARAH
-GvsC
-25th

But more than one line has been called A Real American Hero, the GI Joe versus Cobra era had a lot of different themes, and the 25th anniversary was two years, not to mention the movie figures are going to be in 25th style.

So we could define them by construction:

-Metal rivets
-Plastic rivets
-Integrated rivets

It narrows the entire aesthetic down to a single detail, but at least it is a detail that is universal across all different examples within a single sculpting style.

What about:

First Generation
Second Generation
Third Generation?

Thats how they classify figter jets. Why not Joes?

That sounding a little bit too much like Transformers for my likings.

Honestly I think ARAH, JvsC, and 25th are the easiest and best all encompasing labels.

I'm thinking more and more it's an Action Force/Red Shadows set which is perfectly fine with me. They'll be a welcome addition to my collection and a Red Shadow trooper will compliment the Skank Vipers well.

Now if it IS Action Force/Red Shadows, what vehicles will we get?

RoboSkull.

Dear God, I hope not.

I would not mind an Action Force set at all, and I definitely like a lot of the European vehicles, as I have several in my collection. But I sure do not want to see a RoboSkull in any way, shape, or form.

That would be nearly as bad as a New Sculpt Convention set.

how so, its a neat little vehicle that was unique.

I wouldn't care for a Roboskull, and I don't have much interest in the Hasbro repaints like the Laser Exterminator or the Panther. However, I would *love* to get a Shadowtrak and probably most other AF-only vehicles.

Talk about off topic ;-)

Meanwhile the Club uses this lapse in our attention to keep more info from us, oh but I'm on to them :shifty:

Seriously, do we know when the first pictures or clues will pop out?

I think I already said this earlier in the thread... :shifty:

April was the timeline last year, so I'd assume it to be the timeline this year. Wouldn't be at all surprised for info to start trickling out in the next week or so as folks start receiving their First Class newsletters.

Interesting article. I don't know the answer. However, the author mentioned how to label the SDCC Cobra Commander since it can't be classified by body style since it doesn't use a GI Joe body (it uses an unproduced Indiana Jones body). However, I think we can still classify it. The "majority" rule still applies. Since it uses a 25th style Cobra Commander head, then he's a 25th aka 3rd generation, aka newest sculpt figure. Even if he didn't use that head we could use the packaging and the release date to still categorize him as a 25th figure. 25th style retro packaging. Deep Six's unique body style didn't make him any less ARAH because he was released as part of that line. The SDCC CC, while an exclusive was released during the 25th run.
