I admire their ambition, but to get this line off the ground they should wait on the stagecoach, let alone horses (if they can only go static, there a other options for people on the market).

I'm in for figures, but to do the figures and the stage coach is too much for me at one time. Especially since I'm also interested in Eagle Force.

They think the only chance the coach has is with the Kickstarter publicity, not a year or two down the line when everyone will be less excited for the Western characters, and they're transitioning to the next Series. The horses will only be static for the coach because they have no faith that both the coach and a fully-articced horse can fund at once, so they're saving the horse for wave2.

Put me in the "pass" column for the stage coach. On the plus side, it looks great. Unfortunately, the static horses and the high cost make this a firm no. Like Dusty79, I'm budgeting for new Joes and Eagle Force in the next few months. Also, there are great looking alternatives already on the market at lower cost (like Playmobil for instance).

I have a question though. Obviously I don't know about their budget, marketing plans or anything, so there is probably a very good reason, but why spend on static horses in wave 1 if fully articulated horses are planned for wave 2. Would it not make more sense to push the stagecoach to wave 2 and get the full benefit of the improved horses? Isn't the tooling budget spent on static horses just wasted? Just some thoughts, not expecting an answer.

OB

Edit: this one is a bit smaller than what they are designing, but would still work for Joe-sized figures at the fraction of the cost. The horses could be replaced with PTE ones that are fully articulated.

$127 on top of the kickstarter is a steep price. For that I'd want fully articulated horses. To me the horses are more important to this line than the coach. Get the horses out and then you can roll out all kinds of wagons later on, all while reusing the horse molds you already paid for.

I think I have to agree with AV on this point. DNL needs to catch all the lightning at once. I think that if they draw out their KS campaign too far, and with too many 'surprise' stretch goals unlocked, people will burn out before they get to the stagecoach anyway. In this instance, for this genre, and at this time in KS action figure campaigns, AND showing (and explaining) how the stagecoach *could* happen, they need to lay out the whole bit at once.

For instance, 'We need to hit 200k to make all figures shown so far. We need to hit 500k to make the stretch figures. We need to hit 1m to make the Stagecoach, and you'll still need to pay $130+ for it...'

I can't even list all the action figure kickstarters (or go fund-me or other alt ways) that have come and gone, or are here now, or are coming soon. DNL is going to have be revolutionary to bust through KS fatigue and get all the moneys. They also need to find that sweet spot to run their campaign in, both the launch, and the finish line -- there's too much competition to not be aggressive.

There are stagecoaches in this scale already....It's cool, but I just want the figures, man.

I get JM's point, but as MJT said - there are already stagecoaches out there. Not just Playmobil either. I have a fine Chap Mei one, that is just some detail paint away from looking near exact to the preview pic shown. Also with static horses, for what it's worth. But it came with a bunch of other stuff for less than half that price. So I'm all for a revolutionary approach. I just don't think the coach fits that goal.

also agree with pluv - don't put the cart before the horse. literally. If articulated horses are feasible, those are so SO needed in this scale, available in bulk at reasonable cost. People want them for other lines too. So much, that I'd not be shocked if a horse line might get funded in and of itself.

So much of the line reminds me of Johnny West figures... but those would not have been a thing back in the day without the accompanying horses.

Last point - also reminiscent of JW. Why not something that doesn't already have a replacement on the market? Buckboard or Covered Wagon maybe? But still - later, if at all.

More to the point, no way would I spend that much on a limited use vehicle, unless there was some unexpected hidden value in a team of articulated horses.

here is the chap mei coach. Like I said, could stand to be detailed. But fine in scale and function

Yeah, I don't think the stagecoach is necessary at all. I definitely couldn't afford it. I think it would be cooler to have cardboard dioramas.

Well honk my hooter! after seeing that chap mei one ... yeah, I don't need a DNL one for $130+

Maybe DNL should just try to contract out for the Chap Mei molds and pretty/color them up some -

Now i've come around: yes: articulated horses or get out.

Even articulated horses are out there thanks to PTE.
The PTE horses are great, but limited color and the saddles are plain.

If they made a stretch goal of static horses BUT with really detailed saddles, I'd be interested.

I am also in the pass column on the coach.
I winced at purchasing a legacy millennium falcon for that much.
I can't see that much for the coach.
I fully concur that the likelihood of interest and finding will not last until the 2nd round, but I also think that attempting this on round 1 may endanger the entire initiative.

I really like this line but I have to be strategic with my money. Most of my collection is military so eagle force is a no brainer. I have a soft sport for the western figures, but other than horses I'm not really interested in anything else. Besides my nephews bought all that chap me I western stuff a few years back so if I bid my time I can get it from them.

I'd say ditch the stagecoach and make a saloon bar dioramma piece.
