Wait...those monstrosities are $9.99? I thought the whole point of the limited articulation was to keep the price down. Yet they cost as much as fully articulated Joe or MU figures.

I have to assume TRU priced them like that so they can do a BOGO 50% sale in a few weeks.

Yeah, I dunno if that's just TRU, or typical of what they will be everywhere. They're the only store that has them so far.

5.99 is a fine price for that Silver Samurai. It's agreat figure if you don't care about articulation. I'm going to try to at least add ball-joint shoulders and elbows to it.

Why not get the 2pack MU fig? Many say he's the best fig in the whole line.

I gotta agree with AV here. The 2-pack Silver Samurai is exactly how I would expect him to look in toy form. I've always been fond of the early Wolverine series, so to get a Silver Samurai fig was a treat. He's a big and burly fig, but not to the degree that Sabretooth is. The articulation and detailing is top-notch, as well.

Having seen that new Silver Samurai figure in person today, I can safely say that AdrienVeidt, kHAoS, and Goldbug offer great suggestions. I'd like to offer another: you could take literally any other action figure you own, spray it silver, and have a better figure than the Wolverine movie one. It's exactly like a Chap Mei figure, both in terms of articulation and appearance, and it isn't worth anything close to $6; in fact, if somebody figure-swapped it into one of those Chap Mei medieval sets, it would be indistinguishable except for the vague suggestion of samurai armor in the sculpt. Even the color of the plastic it's molded in is sub-par: it's a gross, milky silver-grey that makes the figure look like a knock-off. Between that guy and the costumed Wolverine, whose feet look like they were sculpted by Rob Liefeld, these might be the worst 3 3/4" figures Hasbro's ever released. It's sad when you look at how far they've come with the sculpting and articulation in the Joe line, and how cool the Wolverine figure in jeans and a tank top would be if it had those same production standards applied to it.

If these things sell at $10, I shudder to think about the inflation of prices that might result: if the toy-buying public would pay that much for a 5-POA POS, what possible incentive would Hasbro have to keep highly articulated and detailed figures like the later Retaliation stuff at a similar price? Luckily, these Wolverine figures suck so much that I can't imagine anyone buying them...I think...and I hope.

I have a whole movie-verse corner of my collection.

Sorry, still sounds like a waste of cash. I find that if one is buying a fig for reasons other than its merits as an action figure, one comes to hate one's collection.

I was going to get one to give better articulation (it has a cool sculpt, minus the articulation problems...at least from the preproduction pics), but no chance at that price. Maybe when it hits TJ Maxx.

I have a drawer full of figures I bought for no other reason than personal attachment or comedic value in how not good an action figure they are. Funskool Windmill, Banana head choppy choppy Kamakura, and Urine Viper come to mind just for GI Joe. As customizers everyone here should be able to understand why one man's trash is another man's treasure.

With that said, there are going to be a lot of these treasures at Ross in a couple of months.

I have to be honest, like I said, if I was a kid, I would have loved them. If it gets a kid a fun lifetime hobby, I'm okay with the figures. Well, that and they continue to make Marvel Universe quality figures with a lot of articulation for us. Also, I gotta admit, if I found that Silver Samurai for six bucks, I'd be pretty tempted...it's cool looking and kind of silly, and I enjoy that, along the lines of what pluv was talking about.

Also, that Silver Samurai comic pack was not easy to find around here. Now that they're $18.88-$22, no comic packs are hard to find haha.
