either crying or getting adjusting his list.

Most likely crying. I also gotta say this was epic.

Wow...that may be the most depressingly esoteric hoax in history. I wonder if it's lost on that guy how pathetic it is to have pulled the wool over the eyes of a couple hundred internet-toy-forum users and then celebrated his success? That's the very definition of a dubious achievement.

On the plus side...well, there is no plus side. I'm often in favor of a well-planned and well-executed scheme, but this is just weird and sad.

Maybe it was an attempt to show Hasbro how much interest there still is for the unreleased product? :-/

I guess the hopeful geek in me overpowered the skeptic in me when those photos appeared. 2 things should have tipped me off that this was a ruse:

1) the articulation on Dietrich's arms (at both the elbows AND shoulders). That's sub-standard for the IJ line, really, and is easily recognizable as that used by 21st Century.
2) the Ark Ghost having a cloth "robe" and appearing "solid". Hasbro would totally be making that whole figure out of transparent plastic, much like the Adventure Heroes one.

Sad? Before or after the trapdoor opens and the noose tightens around his neck?

Nah, this was a pic as he was exiting. He seemed to have a look on his face like he was happy to have pulled a fast one.

Don't know if anyone's still seeking them out, but BBTS and Past Generation Toys both have the jacketed and shortsleeves Mutt on sale right now. At one place he's 1.80, at another a buck.

I got a couple of each because he's so darned useful for customs.

A little bit of luck today - was out shoe shopping with the family, and stopped by Ross to kill some time. Sitting on the shelf, on clearance, was an Elsa figure. Even more amazing (for Ross) - the card was perfect. Another one of those dumb-luck finds.
