I finally found my missing power cord to my camera. It was hiding in a box full of dead scorpions out in the garage. At any rate, this week's profile is the Rock Fighter Guile figure.

You don't see too many collectors who actively chase down these Guile variants. But, most people have at least come across them in their travels. They are solid figures with, at times, decent accessories.

Enjoy!

Does he come with an unpainted Freedom, or is it Raptor's Falcon as you've got shown in your picture there?

I know there is some pre-production confusion as many of the figures were previewed to be using older tooling sets...most particularly the V2 Snake Eyes.

He came with Raptors falcon unless:
A) I'm mistaken.
B) Mike is drunk.

As always, nice review. Incidentally, the bird is not Spirit's eagle, but the falcon from Raptor.

You are correct. Raptor is such an insignifcant part of my collection that the inclusion of a similar bird with him is lost on me. :) Actually, though, the appearance of Raptor's accessories pose an even more interesting possibility and the profile has been updated accordingly.

Gratis.

I finally found this guy the $2 bin, and put a Snake eyes paintball mask on him. I was on and off trying to make a paintball gun for him out of a Star Corps weapon, when they released the paintball guns in the VvsV line.

The completed LBC custom I've titled "Paintball Loser Guile" He's another comedy relief item in my collection.

I've chased down most of the guile variants, and they're generally good figures with an odd head tacked on. The all black night fighter outfit, the snow outfit, and the diving outfit stand out in my mind as good coloring on good molds, and potentially worth a head swap or two.

I got all of these for 2 bucks a pop way back in the day

rock trooper, SEAL, Pilot, Night Fighter and Arctic are really useful as fodder and Sonic Boom serves as my Guile.

Great toys for the time

As cool & forgotten as this figure is, it still pales next to having to sort through dead scorpions to find the camera cable.

I think I'd get a new camera cable first. But then again I haven't had to deal w/ scorpions.

Great review, I'd truly forgotten about the Guile variations other than the all black one.

I actually liked the run of the Guiles. This run I swapped the head from the IAF Big Bear for a nice Russian crew for whatever I can make up.

The added falcon was a great accessory. You can use it with Army of Darkness knights for falconry. Just have to jessy the feet, and it's good to go.

Ah, Mike...you're a man after my own heart. Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat figs are great fodder for LBC's. The movie Guile figures have decent paint apps and only require a simple head-swap. I like the harder plastic of the classic figs compared to the softer figures we get these days. The Night-Fighter Guile actually makes Quick-Kick the Silent Weapons commando I've always envisioned him to be, plus that Snake-Eyes mold has the right amount of bulk to it. The Paratrooper Guile is perfect to use as a search-and-rescue crewman in the Tomahawk.

The Guile head is useless, thanks to his beady little eyes, but surprisingly enough, the long neck fits well on the Road-Pig torso.

I finally got my hands on a blue SEAL Guile last year and that's a really under-rated figure. It's a hidden gem that can make it's way into your hands for next-to-nothing. Now if only I could luck into a movie Balrog like that :-/

Looks like a decent enough figure with good accessories. That camo ruins it for me though. It looks like someone vomited play-dough all over him. :roadpig:

I've loved this figure since I was little. If the figure had sleeves I would buy multiples to build a team.

Sideswipe has arms that will match the Rock Fighter Guile. The Lifeline from that 2-pack is almost a match as well.

I got this figure at the 2007 convention. It was still on the card but the card was a little beat up so I opened it. It was cheap, $7-8 I think. I love this figure because of the crazy colors on him. He rides my Monster Blaster APC with a group of other Joes with really loud colors.
