I picked up the AWE Striker with Leatherneck today, and while otherwise entirely pleased it seems mine is missing a headlight right out of the box.

I've heard there's been some quality control issues lately with sets not shipping with all their accessories and what not, so I'm wondering what everyone's found the best course of action to be.

Will Hasbro replace individual parts? I'm assuming their just going to tell me to return it to the store... but if it was the only one on the shelf you're kind of out of luck there...

I hadn't really run into this before, but I'm sure it has to come up... are you better of just getting your money back at the store or is there anything Hasbro can do?

I'd say try the store first--worst case scenario you pick up a replacement that's also missing parts, or they don't have any in stock and you have to wait.

I know, years ago, Hasbro was pretty good about replacing missing parts (back in the 90s); I'd occasionally get a figure or vehicle with a missing part, mail them about it, and get the part within a couple of weeks (I'd usually include a copy of the receipt and proof-of-purchase). Haven't done it since then but I don't imagine that's changed any, most toy companies are usually pretty good about replacing missing/damaged parts.

See, that's what I remember too.

I saved up for a long time when the Defiant came out, and when I finally had enough the only place we could find it only had one with a damaged box and missing parts. I remember my dad wrote to hasbro to get replacement parts (seems like there were quite a few).

I hadn't heard of anyone doing that lately though, so I don't know if they'd changed policy on that. I sent them an e-mail, I'm betting they tell me just to take it back to the store, but we'll see.

Hasrbro doesn't usually do parts anymore... they will offer to ship you a pre-paid shipping label to send it back to them. The only catch is, if they don't have the exact-same vehicle in stock, they will repalce it with a 'toy of equal or greater value'.
If I were you, I'd exchange it at the store.

Return it to the store. One of my VAMP was missing one of the black panels on the back. I contacted Hasbro, and they sent me the return tag. Sorry, I'm not sending back a whole vehicle just to replace one small part.

Just be glad you didn't get it from HTS.com, it would take 21 days for a freaking answer :-/

The one time I did that for a Transformer that was already out of production it worked like a charm.
It shouldn't be a problem with a current AWE Striker.

Dan, did you have any luck with getting a replacement?

I have a similar problem with the new Firebat, mine came with two right hand side engine covers.
It's really not worth my while returning the whole thing to the store as that would entail posting it back over the Atlantic.

Yea quality control has really tanked. I spotted a Firebat at the local Wal-Mart the other day where the AVAC had no head. I mean I could see if they missed one of the missles or something but how do you not notice that the action figure has no head. Guess the store didn't notice either or they just didn't care.

Not sure how easy it would be to find a replacement head so I just passed thinking it would be easier to just get the set later on.
