Which Joes do you think would take the most ribbing, good-natured and not so good-natured, from fellow Joes? Even though the Joes are supposed to be the best of the best from the various branches of service, they are still members of their respective branches, so the rivalries there would still hold. So be it branch rivalry or just personality issues, which Joes do you think get more than their fair share of ribbing from the others?

My picks:

Cutter - As a member of the Coast Guard, I just don't see the other Joes, especially the Navy and Marine members, letting a chance go by without giving him grief about not being in the 'real' armed forces (not my opinion on the CG, just what I've seen from friends who are Navy or Marines)

Deep Six - I see his personality setting him up for quite a few practical jokes or barbs. I mean, he's a seeming space case and the perfect straight man for every wannabe comedian, so how could guys like Airtight or Shipwreck not take advantage of that?

Snake Eyes - Dresses in black from head to toe, doesn't/can't speak, worst luck of any other Joe member, or possibly even any other person on the planet, outrageous backstory, he just screams 'target me'. Sure if every bit of his myth is true, you're going to want him on your team, but at the same time, any time if he has an issue with any seemingly mundane thing, you know he's going t hear about it. (this one may be more because he was the butt of jokes in my Joeverse as a kid. I just didn't like a figure who couldn't speak. During childhood, my military knowledge came from movies and TV, so soldiers spent nearly as much time on the radio as the did shooting at each other, and SE fails at that. Add to that a friend, and only other Joe collector I knew, who worshipped all things Snake Eyes to the point of making me hate him, and he became an object of scorn that I'm only just now starting to appreciate.)

Who do you see walking around with a perpetual "kick me" sign?

I don't know that I really see Snake Eyes as being the butt of any jokes... Not because he's so bad ass or anything, I just think that what with his never talking, people generally don't know how to read him, so they stear clear for the most part.

I see the clutzy Tripwire as being a favored target of the practical jokesters

Also, I see Cover Girl getting a lot if politically incorrect flak down in the motor pool

Skidmark: for obvious reasons, he would be the 'butt' of many jokes

Big Brawler: nuff said

For Cobra:

Destro: when the Baroness uses the back of his head as a mirror to finish her make-up, or touch it up in the middle of a battle

I am surprised that no-one brought up Bazooka?

He see's sea monsters, wears a football jersey in battle, and is not too bright. If it wasn't for Alpine, I think he would have hung himself in the bathroom ages ago.

sgt slaughter, I mean a wrestler?

Nameless grunt, soon to be bodyslammed: Hey there, tights, you do know that these battles aren't scripted and that you could actually get hurt?

beyond that, I could see cobra commander getting pranked, a lot, I mean, the guy doing laundry could overstarch his mask, again, at the risk of death.

bah, if we're going by Larry "The Father of G.I. Joe" Hama and his filecards as canon, well Bazooka is a "decisive fast thinker with all the natural insticts of a survivor" so I doubt the guys would be making fun of him. Plus many acient civilizations have worshipped/revered "sea monsters" in their cultures, heck even Nessy still brings out the tourists to Loch Ness. Football players are fit, huge guys, and Bazooka strikes me as a linebacker, so I don't think many guys would want to mess with him.

On the flipside, I can definitely see the marines being the Hazers in this group. I can see Gung-Ho and Leatherneck picking on a few of those timid characters like Tripwire and Lifeline.

I actually see him as more of the good natured center that is tough on the battlefield, but is the nicest and smartest guy off of it. I base him a bit off of one of my football buddies who is in the hardest classes there are, and is really nice, but looks like the guy that could rip your head clean off. I even joked with him once after seeing his all A grades by saying "I'd call you a nerd, but I don't wanna get my head bashed into the ground." :rotfl:

But for ribbing, I'd say Short Fuze, because he has such a short temper, you can always get his goat.

Or Stalker, for his name. Saying things like "Get any new restraining orders today, Stalker?"

Quick Kick could get ribbed because he doesn't have shoes or a shirt. "What if someone puts nails across a door, eh Quick Kick?"

In my Joeverse, Destro makes jokes about Cobra Commander behind his back, and everyone generally has a slight distrust of each other.

thats funny, everytime I watch Die Hard(and its our Christmas move here) I think about quick kick.

John Mcclain is all crying pull glass out of his feet, quick kick was marching in the artic bare foot.

and Mcclain is a bad mofo, so quick kick. . .

Destro - for being PW'ed by Baroness

Tomax and Xamot - if you put one's hand in warm water when they are napping, do they both wet themselves?

Deep Six - someone doing the "Woody on Buzz Lighteryear" gags from Toy Story 1 to his bubble.

Snake Eyes - "Dude, where does that sign mean? Can't you just say something?"

Heh, I was actually going to have Gung Ho on my list initially, and forgot him. Not so much because of the way he's dressed, but more because of him being such a backwoods Cajun. As far as Snow Job, I actually think he's too much of a con man to have pranks pulled on him. I see him as either pulling the pranks or hustling money from his fellow Joes.

Post subject:  Re: Joes who'd get the most ribbing:

it would interesting to expand on file cards and flesh out the person rather than the soldier. We know allot of guys are good at being soldiers but what is a guy like Hardball like outside of fighting. i think that's why I love BBQ his file card talks about him outside of combat. If you pay close attention to file cards some soldiers are loose cannons that stay secluded in their rooms between missions, kinda scary no?

I think Cover Girl has passed the torch onto Bombshell to be the token "What, there is a girl here?" and I would be the guy to make fun of Armadillo or Hot Seat, then again I am always looking for incentive to run.
