I'm going to be replacing all the firearms on my Cobra Army soon.
The blueshirts will all be getting AK-47s, the CG's AK-74s,

But what should I give the vipers to replace the dove gray guns they came with? (oh if only they had been molded in black, like theone that came with the claw/fang set.)
I picture Vipers as second tier troops, so their weapons should be an upgrade from the "Grunts." I aslo want to replace the ridiculous giant scale uzi carbines that came with my IG troopers, as well as their sidearms. They should be top tier.

Any suggestions?

I don't troop build, so I don't really have a uniform weapon. My officer got an RPK PKM that was a freebie from Marauder, and my blueshirt inherited a UMP that was a temporary gun for a custom. I plan to get a MP5-K for my paratrooper turned CLAW pilot. Major Bludd got an M1911 to back up his rocket pistol. My Viper got a modular NVR, with a few attachments. Hooded comic pack Cobra Commander has a Luger, and a Wlather PPK.

I like to give my Viper's a variety of weaponry,I try to keep them within the same caliber as to make field supply easier for Cobra.A typical 12 man team would have 6 AK74,2 AK74w/grenade launcher2RPK,1 Dragunov,and 1 MGL.
The Iron Grenadiers I have always thought of as more like bodyguards to Destro.I equip mine with whatever weapon is needed for the job at hand.Generally close quarter weapons like shotguns and submachine guns,but they are always "highend"weapons like the HK series.


P.S. All weapons I use are MJ's.

A few years back I started hoarding Red Star Ak's. I still have a bunch actually.
They are my standard for Cobra Blue.
The specialty troops use Marauder stuff mostly.

I would agree & "humbly" suggest the NVR rifle. Also, the "modular" NVR rifle allows you to customize the weapons within the squad. The majority of the troopers get the basic NVR, but some could use the modular NVR with grenade launcher, vary the scopes & front grips, etc. Also, another thing to consider are "specialists" within the combat group (snipers, anti-armor, SAW gunners, etc). The 50 Cal sniper rifle is a modern & cool upgrade. The anti-armor/explosive trooper could get the RPG or new Multi Shot grenade launcher. The squad automatic gunner could get the Gatling "mini-gun" or M249 (would suggest RPK, but that is more in-line with the "basic" Cobra troopers). Here is Viper equipped with the NVR:


The Iron Grenadiers could get the Uzi with silencers OR the modern upgrade of the Special Agent Machine gun (MP-7) with scope (here is a picture of the weapon WITHOUT scope, but all of our "modular" scopes can be mounted on the weapon):

Oh, have no doubt that you are the supplier for all my planned upgrades, as I have never been even slightly disappointed by anything I've purchased from you. I'm really liking that MP7 for my IG's.

All of my rearming comes from Marauder. At this rate, I may need another multipack of M1911s. I swear, I give those things to all my figs.

I give my blue shirts athe whole range of Marauder Soviet weapons, Vipers get NVR's with modular NVR's for specialists. Probably 90% of the weapons i use now are Marauder Incs and will be ordering more soon!

I outfit my cobra troops at Marauder's pour homme (for men).

Cobra troops sport the elegant and efficient AK-47 with wooden stock.
Vipers wear the small yet punchy M4 or the sporty UMP.

Resolute blue troopers walk around Hasbro's SGT. Hacker's gun.

Depends on teh troop. For VIpers I use the Burnout AK-47s or the Marauders AK familiy

Well, aside from specialist items, my Cobras get east block MJ stuff.
Troopers get AK-47s or AKMs. Officers get AK74SUs or AK74/GP25s. Specialists will get an RPK or RPG. Jetpack Troops get the AK74SU.
Vipers have been getting NVRs.
Resolute Troopes get AKMs or AK74/GP25s
I had wanted the IGs to get SA80s, but their sculpt doesn't allow them to hold that weapon (or many others) in a good two handed pose. I had wanted them to parallel the Cobra organization, but using European weapons rather than Russian.
Snow Serpents get AKMs.
Dreadnoks also get NVRs to supplement their arsenal. The saber bayonet and chainsaw attachment are very handy.
Firefly gets HK G36s or 36Ks. (a modular G-36 would be awesome) Sometimes he gets the SIG.
I wanted to give the Baroness the Steyr, but it seems a bit too big for her frame, so she gets the G36K, SIG, or MP7
I usually reserve the MP7 with M4 silencer and scope for Snake Eyes to replace his venerable Uzi.

I went all out for my 25th collection.

I bought 48 Scarface and Desert Officer figures loose on e-bay to outfit my 8 half-dozen squads of Cobra Troopers with 1982-accurate black AK-47s.
I also bought 24 Fang Pilot and Arctic Vipers to give my two dozen Vipers proper black rifles. I also stole the goggles off the Arctics so my Vipers had painted lenses instead of flat black ones. I'll be giving those rifles to my 24 HOH Vipers, and relegating the bent wrist Wave 8 versions to vehicle operators.

My Iron Grenadiers are armed with the hi-tech rifles that came with the 2002 Spytroops BAT. It looks futuristic enough, but I do beleive it's a real weapon.

My cobras are extreamly peicemeil as in my Joe-verse they don't have the resourses to be too uniform. They tend to try to get as much together as they can but sometimes they really don't have enough to do so. Thus most of them use different guns from one another. As such it gives me more flexablity with the guns as well as the armies. This idea came about as so many viper variations were coming out (seemingly at once) and I wanted to explain it.
