The Flagg, the biggest and most unique toy of all time. So the best for this year.

Since I didnt have the Flagg, Im gonna say the Snow cat.

it was the commercial that won it for me!

SNOWCAT!!!! Winning Battles in the snow for G.I.Joe!

plus the ski torpedoes were super cool!

There were some cool vehicles in 1985. Always liked the Armadillo, the AWE-Striker, the Snow Cat, very glad to have them, they're very impressive (especially tje Snow Cat) but come on, really, the USS FLAGG AIRCRAFT CARRIER is a legend in its own time. Had to go with that.

I agree with Trecker. The Flagg is the best vehicle ever regardless of year or toy line really.

If you make it a fair fight and remove the aircraft carrier, then I'd probably go with the AWE striker. What is not to like about a dune buggy with a removable engine, giant cannon, camera doohickey, side running boards for extra Joes, and actual steering. I wish the front end was a little longer.

The FLagg is huge, but I don't know if thats enough to make it great.

I mean its mostly empty space, still the command tower is a major playset without the deck, so I can see it either way, I suppose.

If you take out the flagg, snow cat, most fun I've had with a toy, even when mine broke(the back piece broke its pegs), we just used it for extra stowage, :)

One minor draw back, 4 missiles and 2 torpedoes always made it more of a support vehicle in my mind than a front line attacker, but that was also fine.

Tons of great choices here. I love the AWE, Snowcat, Mauler, and Bridge Layer but it isn't possible to choose anything other than the mother of all toys: the USS Flagg. It's the stuff legends are made of.

Snow Cat for the Win! I used to have three Flaggs, but seven Snow-Cats. My dream is of someday getting someone to cast yellow windshields for all of them - like in the cartoon. I was obsessed with the Snowcat as a kid. I was always doodling war machines like it, and when my mexican neighbors nephews came to town and bought snowcats I was very upset that Mexico was going to be exposed to our nations secret technology!

Hell I was nine. I had more imagination than sense.

Anyways, the SnowCat is the premiere example of the highly detailed plausible yet sci-fi concepts that the GI Joe line could offer. I want to get another one just thinking about it.

This really is no contest - the Flagg is probably the most iconic GI Joe vehicle ever....

The USS Flagg may be iconic, but as far as toys go I never really enjoyed playing with it because it was too small to be believable yet too big to be manageable. My favorite thing about the Flagg was the megaphone it came with.

I'm a big fan of the AWE Striker, but I'd have to say the Snow Cat was the best vehicle that came out of this particular year. We rarely got snow where I grew up, but I longed for snow just to be able to play with this awesome vehicle. I especially loved the swiveling missile launcher on top, I just wish the tabs to hold it in place didn't break so easily.

A.W.E. Striker.
My first vehicle and so awesome. Pluv already explained why.
Second would be the Silver Mirage. I'm a bit surprised no one mentioned it yet. I like it a lot. Fast, firepower, missiles, room for three, sidepath....... Perfect for quick strikes and pursuits.

The Flagg, well, is certainly a legend, iconic and awesome. But I'm sure I'd never play with it if I had one as a kid, as much as I did with the the Striker.

Flagg.

My feelings on the others is that as a kid, I already had vehicles that fit the purpose.

Silver Mirage...RAM
Mauler......MOBAT
AWE Striker...VAMP

The Bridge Layer, bomb disposal, and weapon transport are the kind of vehicles that really round out a collection by having a very specific purpose, but I'd hate to have either as my only vehicle. The armadillo to me was just a more affordable tank.

So I was left thinking about the Snow Cat (which I think complemented the Polar Battle Bear rather than replaced it) and the Flagg. I had to go with the Flagg since it created an epicenter for everything else Joe and really helped define the strength of the whole Joe toyline.
