So today I was going through my o-ring Corps! collection, and to my horror, half of them have already started to change colors! None of my corps figs are any older that 7 years old. The worst hit seem to be my prized Corps! construction guys. For example, the guy with the white t-shirt and blue shorts now has a yellow t-shirt! My Bengali fig now has yellow inner thighs, and white outer thighs. Obviously, plastic changes colors over time, but I keep my Corps! guys in a dark closet with my joes. As stated, none are even that old. Has anyone here had the same problem, or does my house have some strange force that ages action figures. Also, I don't smoke, so that can't be an issue. It's funny, before I got back into collecting GI Joe, I had all of my joes pilled into a rubbermaid tub in my parents garage for over ten years. Temps in that garage get to 90+ degrees in the summer, and well below freezing in the winter, yet when I "saved" them from the garage in '01 or '02, the only discolored guy was Snowjob. Now that I try to keep them properly, I've had a number of figs turn yellow or green. Guess it's just age, but I just don't expect fairly new Corps! figures to change colors. |

what are you keeping them in? possibly the container is leeching or emitting fumes, therefore changing up the colors -- |

I keep them in cardboard containers. Years back I kept them in rubbermaid tubs, but figured that might not be the best thing to keep them in. |

Could just be plastic quality. I doubt that the Corps figures are made QUITE to the same standards as G.I.Joes, and heck, some of THOSE have discolored, so... A sincere shame. Speaking as one who's toy collection has been a victim of this as well, you have my sympathy. For what it's worth, I just checked my Corps Construction figures, which for some reason I've never even opened, and the ones with significant amounts of white plastic, including the guy with the T-shirt, seem to be fine. |
