Probably just a misassembly. Still, crazy.

Also, I just noticed this... the BAT's head and hologram are definitely different from the final version we got.

Makes me wish the Air Defense, Check Point, and Cobra Bunker would end up coming out this year as more exclusive sets like last year's Wal-Mart ones.

I think most every catalogue pic in those days involved some mis-assembly, but as for the BAT, his head, lenticular hologram sticker, arms and boots were all different than what we got, but he's the same version that's in the 1986 catalogue. Leatherneck also sported different camo pattern.

Doesn't the prototype heads for Dial-Tone and Mainframe look so much better?!

I seem to recall some shots of the Thunder Machine in the comic where the ammo belt looked like that. I like the Mainframe head, he looks a bit younger, more like the comic and cartoon.

Thanks for sharing Jay

No, the legs didn't make it through safety. But the leg holes are in the bottom of everyone's compter.

I still don't understand how the sitting position of the Recon Sled works. There's no driver controls the figure can reach. Maybe it's all foot controlled.

I recall seeing those in obscure stores as late as 1991.
