Ok, I'm thinking of maybe getting the Shipwreck tattoo done, though I feel a bit poseur-ish doing so given I'm not a sailor. Irregardless, it would help to gather as many images as I can of the original tattoo (and variations thereof) before I were to do so. The Combat Heroes seems to have the clearest compared to the original, but if there exists any other sources or art that could help figure this out it'd be appreciated.

So you're going for the dolphin tat, are you? Hehe!

The shark and anchor for the 25th are clearest on yojoe:

The vintage shark is visible but not good:

Then on JoeIndex:

The comic usually had him drawn with an anchor likethis one minus the rope:

Well, for all intensive purposes, I think you have plenty of attributes in common with a sailor, but I was thinking this guy:

Besides, wasn't your Dad a Squid? That should count for something.

Oh, and I have nothing of value to add to this discussion, BTW... :P

well Chief beat me to the punch, but if it were me, I'd just go for "irregardless," in script, across your back.

This, only in Kanji.

I didn't realize he had so many different tattoos. Which version are you looking for? That would help us track down images for you.

Actually went looking, but only found this:

Then I checked the comics - and promptly remembered that he hardly ever appeared. Even still, he only had a simple anchor in his comic debut, so no help there:

Sorry, Beav.

Yea, I thought maybe the cardback from 85 showed it, but it's kinda obscured - http://www.yojoe.com/cardback/85/ship34triple.shtml

I wonder if Bellomo or anyone like that would know the actual origin of the thing... It's got to be based on SOMETHING real world, yes?

Keep up that kind of "Sailor Talk" and you'll be recognized as an honorary sailor in no time :shipwreck: :pirate:

Then no one can give you any :poopstorm: about your tattoo (or grammar)

look for pics of the 25th anny comic pack version. It's in a darker blue and much more likely to show up well in pics. I don't have anything on hand just yet, but I will peek

As far as I can tell, the original was the shark and the anchor combined together.

It's a perfectly cromulent word.

And it's the v1-ish style I'm looking for or as close to it as possible *IF* I were to do this.

Chad has a pretty nice scan of it, so I'd pm him about it.

You've just become my favorite guy on this board. :rotfl:

V1 Shipwreck's tat is actually an anchor and a winged serpent looking thing. I have a V1 here and the tat is pretty minty, so I'll try to get a good pick of it, if that will be any help. The PT Shipwreck version didn't have the wings.

I repoduced it on my Sigma Shipwreck and I think it's a pretty good copy, tho it might be a combo of V1 and Sunbow's version. This pic isn't that great:

OK...snapped a pic of my V1's tat. It's amazing how great it looks on the figure, but how bad the art really is once you take a pic of it:

In the pic you can see that it's actually pretty asymetrical and that bugged me, so I did a quick and dirty line drawing of it, cleaning it up and making the anchor symmetrical:

My Sigma's tat in the post above definitely has some Sunbow influence. I probably have a good pic of the actual screenshot I used somewhere...
