Looking at the new Snow Cat (or Ice Monkey or Sleet Donkey or Frost Weevil or whatever name Hasbro threw on it this time around), I was both surprised and happy to see White Out included as the driver.

Not the always popular Frostbite or Snow Job, but the very forgettable head-to-toe repaint character of White Out from the 2000 ARAH series. As the first two have already been made in 25A format, and Hasbro has no problem pumping out a dozen versions of the same character, why the odd choice of going with a 5th tier character?

Perhaps Hasbro is testing the water to see how lesser-liked or forgotten characters will sell. I hope that we'll get to see characters following the 2000 series. Maybe we'll get to see some 25A representation of NS characters. Dart, Cross-hair, maybe Blackout?

Crosshair and Black Out would be cool.

Maybe they just wanted to add another Joe arctic trooper to the ME mix. I can't recall if Frostbite has been done 25th style, but Snow Job has both a 25th release and a PoC release, maybe they didn't want to have another Snow Job out there. It diesn't stop them from putting more Dukes, SEs or CCs out there, but they didn't think we needed another Snow Job I guess.

Frostbite was made, but in name only...he has a beard under there, i swear!

but yeah...white out? and not snowcat? and no iceberg(granted the figure is white...so that one is ok)? might wanna check and see if the transformers team still gets to use the old joe names or not...i think that has something to do with it.

I'd definitely buy a Blackout and a Barrel Roll.

Perhaps it's so they can sell more recognized named characters on single cards. You typically don't buy the vehicle for the driver (unless you're a completionist like most of us) - so they can name the driver Purple Helmeted Love Monster and still sell the tank.

At this point it's just a Hasbro thing. They have had no cartoon to fall back on and say they are redoing characters for the purpose of having recognized names. Kids would only recognize some of the movie names, but probably not even all of them since it has already been a while. The upcoming cartoon I guess might help, but I can't commit to it to say right now.

I'd like to see more of the characters that have not been out. I like seeing White Out in there. I'm not getting Snow Job, Duke, Firefly, Beachhead, Snake Eyes, and Storm Shadow due to being tied of seeing those figures over and over.I have too many and I can't keep getting them with how many Hasbro puts out.

So yeah I like that new Dreadnok, and White Out is great. Any of those I'll fit into my collection. Beyond that I gotta stop patting Hasbro on the head and saying good job witht he endless supply of Duke/Snake Eyes they put out. They need to just start repacking the ones they have so it doesn't screw up a "new figure" slot. If they are so hooked on the "gotta have them on the shelf" idea, repack them. They've got what, 40 different ones to pick from?

The fact he is a head to toe repaint makes me avoid this vehicle all the more, I am sick of rehashes, expecially cheap ones.

Funny, I threw an Arctic Shippy head on that frostbite body and it was fine :)

Keep em comming, I would love a repaint 5 pack (insert store name here) exclusive entitled
"JOE REINFORCEMENTS" with Sidetrack II, Cross Fire or Double Blast, Wet Down, Sideswipe, and Big Brawler!

I might consider getting this Duke for my default version, if he still looks like that when he comes out:

I just don't see a point in all the releases though. There's a Snake Eyes now, then another one in the next group, and a third by January. There's no reason for all of those.

Honestly I think its a copyright issue. They have lost quite a few names over the years to non-use and are probably being preemptive in keeping the copyrights current by having to use the names they still own for risk of losing them, no matter how irrelevant the character may be.

And I'm a sucker for arctic characters so I don't mind that we're getting White Out. I just wish he didn't come with the Snow Cat and we got a proper Frostbite figure instead. Hell just put the RoC Shipwreck head on the White Out body, name it White Out for legal issues and I'll call him Frostbite myself.

I got the Ghost Hawk today nd saw the driver is named Tomahawk. I guess I didn't pay attention previously to that. I guess they are trying to keep the Tomahawk name going and not apply it to Hawk now.

IMO, the new Snow Cat would have been friggin' perfect if it came with a vintage inspired Frostbite. I find the lazily slapped together White Out completely uninspired. If they were going to half-ass it with the driver, they could have made it a 25A Snow Job repainted with a brown beard to matchup with the only other White Out figure. I absolutely HATE it when they nonsensically change character's features/hair color/facial hair even if it is a repaint/throw away character like White Out.
