Does anyone care? For folks who are interested, The Hub, which will be airing the G.I. Joe: Renegades cartoon has revamped their site today, adding a bit of new content. Some new images, some revamped character bio's, etc... http://www.hubworld.com/gi-joe/shows/renegades Also, thanks to the glory of TVGuide.com we've learned that the first episode of G.I. Joe: Renegades looks to be airing October 10th at 5:00pm! Last, but not least, the shameless plug of the night... the GeneralsJoes G.I. Joe: Renegades SuperPage is live with all of the news from the upcoming animated series. http://renegades.generalsjoes.com Is anyone over here interested in this at all? I'm somewhat surprised that I don't see a thread for it already, though maybe I just missed it somehow. Justin |

From Hubworld in the Renegades description: Quote: On the run after being accused of crimes they didn't commit Since when did the GI Joe characters turn into the A-Team? |

I'm interested. I'm not enamored with the early still photos of the characters, but I think too much was made of that, and I think the show will be good. I like the new twist on the story too. Allows them to use the same characters with largely their own trademark traits, but use them in an interesting new storyline. It's kind of like how I used to play with Joes as a kid. Only so many ways the same basic story can be told in a straight line, so the curves here I think are necessary, A-team similarities be damned. I do wonder though - if the natural progression of the story is at some point to have the renegade Joes end up in the right, and to be teamed up with the Joes chasing them - won't that make the name "Renegades" obsolete and maybe even short-sighted? A small complaint, no doubt. lol. And, I'm much more interested now that I know I have Discovery Kids already in my cable service, meaning (I think/hope at least) that I already have The Hub locked in here. |

I'll probably have to torrent the episodes, since I don't get the Hub. But hey, free Joe episodes, sure I'll watch. |

So, Flint has his own team "The Falcons" who doesn't believe Cobra is evil and is hunting Duke and the Joes. Cobra Commander's name is Adam? Mindbenders first name is Brian? I am actually interested in where this will go |

A few days ago I was driving by the Grove in LA next to the CBS Studio. They had those huge posters lining the walls that studios stick up to promote their latest movies and TV shows. They had a poster for the Hub. It had Batman Beyond and Optimus on it, along with about 5 more characters I did not recognize. No Joes though. We don't get top billing |

Yeah I got email telling me and checked to see what channel it'll be for me. It says since I already have DiscoveryKids, I'll get the hub. I guess it'll air on DiscoveryKids? I'm more interested in that Transformers. They're talking BulkHead and using. The seekers look like Neon Genesis Evas. I'll give G.I.Joe a chance like i've been saying all along, i just don't hold much hope. |

Yeah, anyone who has Discovery Kids will, by default, get the Hub when it converts over on October 10th. To see if you're going to get it, HubWorld has a handy-dandy channel locator: http://www.hubworld.com/channel-locator Justin |

Don't get DiscoveryKids since I don't have a high enough cable package to get it so if I watch it, it will have to be online. I'm really meh over it. I don't like the animation and reading up on the plot and all I'm not really interested in the storyline. I'll give it a shot at least. I am way more interested in Transformers though. |

I'm already liking the new twist on the story. Something other than the basic Good vs. Bad is always nice to see. Especially with a kids show. It gives me hope that the show is actually taking storytelling seriously. What really caught my eye was the modernized and expanded history/backstory of COBRA. I like that Destro was trying to compete and MARS got taken over. Also that COBRA is a corporation that the world sees as beneficial and uses great PR (and the BARONESS) to keep that image going. I like that CC stays hidden while using a fake character as his public face. All much more fleshed out than "Hey I'm a bad guy who wants to take over the world" (talking cartoon here and obviously not comic). |
