So, I passed on picking up the ship for $24 at Target last month, because I read some bad reviews. I just broke down and got it on clearance at WalMart for $14.75. Any comments as to quality of it for display/dip piece? |

If it's like the Black Pearl it is a very nice display piece. I have the Pearl with the cloth sails and wish I had brought it with me when I moved to L.A. (it's in storage in Kansas). Sturdy quality and a fun ship. |

(it's in storage in Kansas). Sturdy quality and a fun ship. I too have the Black Pearl. It is a decent playset display piece. Most of the play features from the Pearl were carried over to the Queen Anne even if it might be a new design. The only new thing I see is the blakc light designs. http://www.examiner.com/children-s-toys ... e=33421821The Black Pearl also had access to the cannon deck in the middle. This was a little lame since it was more like a drawer instead of actually be tall enough to hold a figure standing up. But for setting on a shelf it is well worth the $15 you paid for it. However, to be honest, since it does take up a shelf all by itself, I haven't removed it from the plastic tote since I moved. As much as I like it, it doesn't really do anything besides sit there. Again it is more of a playset than a vehicle. |

I've got both ships- very cool for Dios and displays (also have the Chap Mei ship). If you want pics, of the ships, I can take some tonight. |

I ended up passing on it even when I saw it cheap. Space mostly is my issue. It does look cool though from what I have seen. If it were repainted with some wash and other highlights, I bet this could really become a great looking display item. |

I saw it at wal-mart today for 14.75. I've heard it's smaller and less fun than the Black Pearl. |

I passed on it, even at $14 as I already have 5 Pearls (1 from Dead Man's Chest and the others from World's End, I got them for $9.99 each) and the large Chap Mei ship. I just don't need any more large pirate vessels at the moment LOL |

I have both, and to be honest, the QAR isn't that great. It's about 20-25% smaller than the Pearl, and just looks tiny next to an already under-scaled ship. As mentioned, it has most of the basic features as the Pearl, minus the electronics, moving cannons, and a couple of others. The skeleton figure head and the increased sturdiness over the Pearl are the major things going for it. My son loves it though and isn't bothered by its size. |

Thanks guys. I had heard that the quality was pretty cheap, ie: pieces falling off easily, etc. The size won't really be much of an issue for me, and for under $15 I figured it would make a good display/dio piece. @ J_Man, I plan on eventually doing a wash and a lot of detail painting to bring out some realism in it. |

I had to look this up... found a review. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCwWMqbejU4 If anybody buys one to customize or such and isn't going to use the Skeleton Figure Head...let me know...I'm going to have to keep my eye out if they're starting to sell for less than $15. |
