The latest club newsletter officially declared MCAX DOA, and that they were replacing it with a B/S/T section in their club forums, whenever that happens. |

A bear pooped in the woods as a result of this news. But he was going to do that anyway. |

DarkJedi wrote: OK, so what is/was MCAX? Marine Combined Arms eXercise. Usually taking place at MCAGCC (Marine Corps Air/Ground Combat Center) 29 Palms, California, it is essentially "war games" to allow all the elements of the Marine Corps to work and train together. Infantry and Air Wing units are used together to coordinte assaults on designated targets. Tank units, anti-aircraft units and artillery are also brought into the fold so that these units can learn how to interact with one another. Besides actual combat, this is where Marines get to play Marine and put their training to use. Or were referring to something different? |

It's unfortunate, but ultimately, I think any auction site on any topic whatsoever is going to have to compete with eBay, and that's just not going to happen. I think the only real competition eBay has is Amazon sellers, and that's not even an auction site. I sell on both eBay and Amazon. I know there's a few others out there, maybe even a few specific ones related to certain types of merchandise (a friend of mine has referenced one that specializes in stamps), but it's just not going to be easy, and eBay is a heck of a hurdle. |

I agree, but the failure of MCAX was far more than just the competition. The site was just a complete failure. They promoted it for years before anything ever made it to live use. Once it was live, they seemingly put no effort it to advertising it other than their stupid magazines. The interface was terrible. The rules for using it were confusing. |

Did anybody here even use it? Any good deals, or sales? I totally forgot it even existed. |
