Post subject:  Defiant and Astronaut Question

So I finally obtained Holy Grail number four, a complete Defiant Complex (1-3 being a Flagg, 83 HQ and an MMC). When I received it, the crank and gears for raising the shuttle to launch position had been disassembled. Is there a picture anywhere of how these gears go together? Or if any of you that have a Defiant, could you post a picture? Thanks.

My other question is I now have a couple extra Payload figures, I'd like to make them into other astronauts. Whom do you think would be good for the Astronaut Corps? I've got red Payload, Countdown v1 and v2, Roadblock, Astronaut Flash, Action Astronaut (Trying to think of a good codename, for now he's John Glenn) and Sci-Fi (in grey uniform and Starfighter pilot). I was thinking of the episode, "The Wrong Stuff" where Ace trains a few Joes to be astronauts, so I was going to add Ace to the roster, but whirled might fit the bill?

Any of the pilots would be good. Rock 'n' Roll would work too due to his physical conditioning being a weightlifter and all. Mainframe or Hacker for computer support.

And because you posted it :)

I always wanted to do up a payload like the preproduction art for V3 payload. As far as other characters go I'm at a bit of a loss, unless you wanted to reimagine some of the other star birgade figures

Yeah, I was trying to avoid the Star Brigade figures, at least the big, bulky only-slightly-better-articulation-that-Deep-Six-v1 guys. I like your reimaging of Payload with the black/green, I may do that to my second yellow Payload. I've seen Countdown and SB Roadblock for cheap (got Roadblock for $5 MIC), so I might be able to make a fair number of astronauts, I just have to find heads that will fit under the helmets.

How about the Corps Star Force figs as bodies for other characters?

Ozone - Science Officer
Space Shot and Countdown as Pilot and Co-Pilot
Payload - Mission Leader
Good Call with the Action Astronaut and Astro-Flash

Rock and Roll, Heavy Duty,Sci Fi, Gen. Hawk, Gears who is a mechanical engineer, Robo Joe, Duke and Roadblock were all attached to Star Brigade

If you'd like a more off the wall character Double Blast was mentioned to be an Electrical whiz as well as a beefy Machine gunner, Hard Drive's specialty list is like a swiss army knife so he would be a great fit. There are also really vague characters like Striker, the maninmal terminator that you can take in any direction you want, i made him akin to a Jack O'Neal, USAF Para-Rescue, I would recomend a Medic

Star Brigade Roadblock is a winner for me. I was always bigger in to the cartoon rather than the comic as a kid. "The Wrong Stuff" episode led me to liking Roadblock as an astronaut even though it is pretty ridiculous. Maverick is a "trooper" pilot for me. I have several of them manning air and space craft throughout my collection. He is a good pick as well.

I always forget about Ozone, he looks pretty cool. I'm looking for Space Shot, but that guy is hard to find, expensive when found.

The Defiant is cooler than even the Flagg. There are all kinds of great features and nooks and crannies throughout the whole kit'n'kaboodle. I even picked up a Crusader Shuttle, Star Fighter and a couple of Stellar Stilettos with pilots, as well as some Astro-Vipers. The Hard Top came with both his boom mic and pistol.

How about Hawk (V3)? His flight suit with winged pack could pass for outer space gear.

Hrm Payload V3/4/5 - used in a bunch of formats including Eco warriors BBq

Also I do recomend at least Armor tech RnR he looks like he's in and SCV suit to you know do the heavy lifting

I'd trade you my Space Shot but yellowed pretty bad when I took him out of teh package...

I thought about that, but he doesn't have a helmet like Payload.
