Yeah, looks like the JP figure with the more finalized head.

Like Zanzibar, it looks like Red Dog reused the planned head to recoup tooling costs.

And considering who started this thread... I came in expecting some sort of discussion about possible ways GI Joe could get into a crossover with that TV cartoon.

If you missed the podcast with the first batch of images, it is here:
http://joedeclassified.com/forum/viewto ... f=20&t=602

There are pics of the Zanzibar head figure there as well. We had these at Joecon to shoot the breeze in person.

Joecustoms has a whole podcast subforum. There is a lot going on in there on several podcasts, but I also often miss it because I usually just visit the main section. Actually, I usually hit up "Joes" "Off Topic" and "Critiques" but I do miss things in the subforums.

Any chance these might show up on ebay like the one already did?

Also, that Wolverine Sand Razor would have been awesome for a Dreadnok vehicle. It would rip right into the walls of storage units and chain link fences...

I'm surprised that even without the JP tag, Hasbro ain't distributing those as Adventure team products.
Mission to Dino island.

Somewhat off-topic, but the chocolate-chip camo gloves on the "Desert Headquarters" Outback are just brutal. I like how detailed they went with the camo pattern itself, but those gloves hurt my eyes.

It's possible that the podcast covers this (I haven't had a chance to listen), but does it seem weird to anyone else that the archer figure uses the club's Adventure Team head? I'm not sure how the club's agreement with Hasbro works, but it surprises me that they would use that piece.

Yeah we did talk about it on the episode. But basically the Club said at con to notpicard that they had no idea Hasbro was going to use the head. We obviously don't have the full story but notpicard is convinced the AT head belongs and he's the last person I'd ever argue with hahaha.

Maybe the AT head was a place holder until the other head could be tooled up?

SOMEONE should go ahead and run with these as a set. Maybe the club can look into it or possibly turn the idea into a JoeCon set.

Sounds plausible, especially since there's no differences between it and the preproduction Land Adventurer's head...

As for seeing these see the light of day without JP, I dunno... Surely there's some sort of legal tangle that, being a pitch for a licensed product, Hasbro can't just scrub off the license logos and sell them as regular Joes, in spite of owning the toolings for Joes in the first place.

Thanks for the info. I'm looking forward to hearing the podcast, but that detail really jumped out at me from the pictures. I'd actually be happy to see Hasbro gain access to some of the club-exclusive parts: there are a couple of heads that would be great to get at mass retail (unlikely, I know, but at least that would open the door a crack).

Interesting. The AT head is a little too "Joe" to be used for JP, in my opinion -- that's a compliment that they did such a good job of matching the original AT Joe. But the other headsculpt, that works a little better. I'm not seeing the JP or InGen logos here, so who knows? But the overall color scheme is close enough to that tattoo-faced JP figure that turned up a while back, certainly. Wonder if this will turn up on eBay the way that one did?
