According to the full cast list, many more Joes were in the film without having much screen time
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1583421/ful ... cl_sm#cast

Clutch
Grunt
Tunnel rat
Sgt Slaughter

Michael Dudikoff (American Ninja) was somewhere in the film as Quick Kick!

Whoa!

That's probably why most any of that was cut. If they we not named as a dead team member, mthey can be used later. WWE also confirm not long ago that Sgt Slaughter was not involved or shot any scenes. maybe I there's a chance he will get his cameo in the next one.

Wasn't one of the Cobra security officers credited as Zandar?

Just because it's on IMDB doesn't mean it's real.

On what grounds would you challenge their list of credited characters?

Because you don't have to be "in the know" to add information to IMDB. It's about a step above Wikipedia. I remember when RoC was first announced, just about every Gi Joe character was listed on the IMDB page at some point. I'm not saying they *weren't* in there, but I'd wait to read the official credits.

Huh; that's interesting, because I've found their vetting process for information to be pretty thorough in my dealings with them. I'm not exactly sure how they handle the confirmation process, but I've definitely had credits rejected before because of slight differences in job titles from show to show, so somebody's doing their homework there. Maybe it's different for crew members than character names. Also, I've generally found that, by the time a project sees release, the credit submissions are usually coming from the production itself. But I'm not familiar with IMDB's inner workings, nor have I seen the movie, so it's not like I know either way.

I saw those name entries on IMDB too. Isn't Sgt. Slaughter listed as being played by Robert Remus (Sgt. Slaughter's real name)? Maybe it was a cut scene.

Zandar was indeed in it and addressed by name, no indication of being Zartan's brother either way though. Just before Zartan visits the real President, the "Secret Service" agent to whom he speaks is Zandar.

Clutch is also addressed by name, but his face (at least in the theatrical release isn't seen). When the Joes get the nuke back at the beginning, a vehicle, similar looking to a Ninja Combat Cruiser, pulls in to retrieve it. Duke calls out to Clutch to bring in the vehicle.

I don't take what IMDB says completely anymore. I believe for a while they had Brendan Fraser Listed as Gung Ho before the first movie came out.

In the extended edition, as Roadblock reaches for the beer during the dunking scene, he calls out, "Free Hand" and "Flipper". Anyone catch that?

What are free hand and flipper supposed to be that we would have caught? Those are just regular words with no special significance, far as I can tell...

If you watch the extended version, with subtitles, both words are have capitols for the first letter, meaning they are names.

Why would Rockblock say either words when the script is already buttoned up?

I tend to believe they were codenames. If I can get a pic I will post it.

You say that, but Reb Brown's name was added to Quarterback Attack With Mike Ditka (an old Sega CD game) solely because someone saw The Spoony Experiment joke about one actor's ressemblance to the ultimate B-movie action star, and for the longest time the live-action Tekken movie had everyone from Chiaki Kuriyama to Nathan Jones listed on its cast.

As for characters in the film and names dropped....

As for Matt Gerald's character... he's referred to as Zandar in the film proper, but in the end credits he's named Havoc.
