So the Vintage Stock in Edmond, OK had a 25th Anniversary MOBAT for $30, and I convinced them to let me have it for half price (I was also buying some Kirby FF issues, so they were getting my money.)
To elaborate, I received an original MOBAT when I turned five. My Uncle, who also taught me and his daughter how to ride our new bikes, bought it for me. A few months later, he passed away at the age of 29 with an aneurysm. Fast forward 20ish years, after I had purchased the TRU reissue MOBAT, I found out that my aunt had thrown out all of my cousin's old stuff, so my cousin had nothing that her Dad had given her. So, I gave my old MOBAT to her. She still displays it in her china cabinet alongside her dishes. It's a fun sight
Anyway, When I saw the prototype images for the Patriot Grizzly, I was excited about it. Before I even had the thing in hand, I got rid of the TRU reissue MOBAT, leaving me MOBATless. A sad predicament indeed, especially after I was so disappointed with the underdetailed Grizzly.
What's been really sad is that I love to display my recently completed set of 82-83 figures, and they don't look right standing with the RAM, the VAMP, and... the Grizzly.
I'm happy to say that with this new acquisition, the setup is perfect, and Steeler is quite happy to have his old ride back
