I work as a Realtor and home warranty sales rep in Vegas and during one of my office calls... I was talking to a group of realtors and the GI Joe movie and the past cartoons came up in the conversation. That lead to my collecting and then to customizing. I showed them my work and one of the custom pictures was of my Adventure Team the GI Joe, Bulletman and Mike Power team. They were all under 35 and had no idea who they were. Once I explain who they were and how they evolved from the classic solider toy, they thought this was a great idea for kids. So my suggestion is. I think it would be cool if Hasbro put out and Adventure Team cartoon where every week the team went on a new quest. Hunt for the great white, search for the mummy's tomb, into the valley of the dinosaurs etc.... I think it would attract the younger generation and spawn a new wave of toys. What do you think?? |

I could definitely see a GIJoe Adventure Team cartoon aimed at younger kids, not unlike Rescue Bots for Transformers. That one's apparently a big hit with kids. |

Yeah, I think that -- barring the North Korean situation dragging out longer than it's likely to -- the era of war toys has pretty much ended for now, so an Adventure Team approach is likely the only way a new generation is really going to buy into the brand. I think it would be cool to update those characters for a modern audience. Joe, the team commander, is a former soldier turned adventurer. Bullet-Man is a professional daredevil with an altruistic streak. Mike Power is a bit of a mad scientist. If I were Hasbro, I'd take his idea and run. Get a toon into production and forget about trying to milk more military themed movie sequels. They could leave he war-based Joe toys to he Club and still profit (peripherally) from the adult collector fan base. |

Video games. 1st person shooter style would go over well with a certain type of joe fan, but why limit it to a MW clone? Have it fairly sci fi, with all the fun of old school GI Joe. No need to go gritty GI Joe never was starting ow just seems lame. Have cool Cobra temples and wacky stuff, giant robots, Jump jet packs BATs pretty basic story of a Joe trapped on Cobra island trying to get back to the pitt. Multiplayer, set up similar to team fortress, you pick a joe and your character has that particular set of attributes. Cobra vs. Joes... then cartoon.... renegades was pretty well done. wrap it up, and follow it with a continuation sort of like how anime handles "generational" stuff. Like Naruto, then Shipuden. |

I think that kind of just rehashes the whole Real American Hero thing. I'm talking a complete change from the Joe vs Cobra thing. No more Duke, Snake eyes yadda yadda. More Scooby Doo meets Johnny Quest. We could get all of the old style vehicles and cool new stuff. Not to mention monsters, aliens and cool animals. I really think kids would get in to the cartoon and toy ad's should tie into the experience. Having kids reenact the adventures with the figures. Except for the newest retooling of figures I already have or coming out with new 25th anny stuff. I think GI Joe is starting to stagnate. True I buy most of the new figures and would love some of the things that are yet to come out , but I'd really like to see retro figures replace the ARAH concept for a while. Just my opinion. |

What you're talking about is more of reimaging the brand. Keep the G.I.*JOE name, but put it on the idea in which you were talking about. Might could work. My thoughts parallel those of Jay with the Rescue Bots series. Familiar idea, but separate from the mainstream. I like Daniel's idea with the video games though. For 30 years G.I.*JOE has been associated with a military SpecOps group and their terrorist group primary enemy, why change that? Transformers seems to survive on the two levels, something for the kids and something for the kids that adults can get into. A good video game (I'm not looking at you RoC video game), based on some thing like Modern Warfare or CoD would do well as these seem to be popular formats for games (I'm not a gamer, so I may be talking out my kiester). I think the kids who would play this might take more interest in the figures and vehicles as toys, similar to the way HALO went from a series of video games to having a toy line too. Some of the kids who buy the HALO figures may not play with them per se, but still like to get them to have a figure of their favorite characters. |

I could see it. I still feel some sort of continuity and rich history for kids to read about and get into works well. Modern age of things, they want to throw out the story each year and start over because they feel kids do not have the attention span. |

An Adventure Team cartoon would be awesome. Jonny Quest meets the Thunderbirds. Joe the leader, land adventurer / commander Ace the Pilot, air adventurer Skip the frogman, sea adventurer Tom Stone the desert explorer, adventurer Jane, the scientist From their secret HQ on Adventure Island, the AT board the Sky Hawk, their high tech super jet and fly towards action an adventure. Rescuing scientists, discovering lost civilizations or battling ancient creatures, the Adventure Team is always ready. That or something à la Rescue Bots with a mini-figure line would be cool. |

I like the adventure team concept keep it small like was posted earlier jane, joe tom, skip, ace and a young mike powers who needs prostetics from a tragic accident. Of course he gets prosteties that jane designs. You could have him as jane and joes adopted songs |

I like the idea, and I think they could even pull it off as an off-shoot of the regular Joe team. There are more than a few AT-worthy type name characters who could fill the traditional AT slots. It wouldn't have to re-brand the G.I. Joe universe (even though that happens once or twice a year as it is anyway, in some medium), but simply explore a new corner of it. But still have the qualities that made the retro brand so awesome. To some extent, wouldn't the current JP Joes be a feeler of sorts for this type of adventure set? reality check though - IF they did it, because H feels so invested in the main characters, it would be AT led by Duke, Snake Eyes, and now Roadblock. |

On his first field mission, he would suffer from an accident and become bionic after that. |

I'd still have the main GI Joe core characters in the main line and movie character line. AT would be a secondary Clone Wars style line that would be based on an AT cartoon. Joe Colton (from the movie) goes on to start the AT. It has links to the other characters and maybe some Renegades like cameos with other Joe characters but for the most part it would be an adventure show with a suitably gimicky toyline. I wouldn't even care if it was 5 PoA as long as the heads and accessories were compatible. Throw in a vehicle or two and BAM instant cash. |

The bearded full head of hair Colton leads a team of older but not old adventurers. All of the team would have served in the military but have been retired and adventuring for a while. If we had to have ARAH joes, I'd like them to be specialty joes like shipwreck or alpine no main stream movie characters. I'm not saying they need to stop producing the military version of GI Joe but I'd like this to start to take over as the main brand. I'd like it to have the cartoon and the toy commercials. |

Adventure Team.....Ben 10 and his weekly adventures..... Yeah it could work if there was sufficient small amounts of non reality based elements. Johnny Quest meets Indiana Jones meets some of the zany elements of the old GI Joe cartoon. ...Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers and Duck Tales were successful using this adventure theme. I'd think kids would buy into a Joe show with that type of energy. |
