What are the chances of that leading to any toys? |

Dusty79 wrote: What are the chances of that leading to any toys? Joe toys directly inspired by the IDW comics number at one: the alt head from the Cobra Combat Ninja (inspired by the IDW RAH blue ninjas). So yeah, slim to none odds. stopping before I rant about the heavy influence the IDW Transformers comics have on the TF toy line... |

I'm probably in the minority here, but I have zero interest in this comic. |

You crazy, the comics influenced toys have been good so far, and we're only 1 wave in! Skids, Waspinator, Tailgate, and Swerve all look pretty darn good for upcoming stuff. |

I'd settle for at least a wave of figures like the current Transformers that have IDW comic pack ins. That would be the way to do it. It doesn't HAVE to have a GIJoe figure that fits in it. It would be nice but it would also be fine enough just to finally see a HISS that turns into a robot even if it's smaller scale. |

TF collectors get toys based on the acclaimed TF comic designs for characters meanwhile in Joe line, there's zero chance of figures for Ronin or Bildocker or Krake or any Cobra Files versions of the established Joes |

It doesn't seem that the IDW Joe universe comics have the same following, so creating figures based on those designs is probably more of a risk. It probably would also help if Joe had an actual retail presence and didn't have the scheduling in disarray thanks to the movie shuffling. |

I'm with Mysterious Stranger -- I just hope the comic is good. While it's no surprise that the article indicates that it will take place in a universe separate from any of IDW's current G.I. Joe or Transformers titles, I hope that this new ongoing title will be respectful (and as traditional as possible) to both. And I'm pleased that someone at Hasbro, as quoted in the article, is acknowledging BOTH the Transformers and G.I. Joe anniversaries! |

Toys based on IDW G.I. Joe: it only took 20 years or so for Kwinn and Dr. Venom or the Oktober Guard. Wait til the late 2030s/early 2040s and I'm sure IDW based figures will be available! |
