I just got my Marauder John series 7 set. I got the 1 of everything set to figure out what I'd want to get.
I tested them with 3 pack Firefly and SE 54. First impression, everything is extremely well made, as usual. Great details on the weapons. The magazines and removable stocks all fit firmly into place.
The folding stocks felt fragile, but seemed to hold their positions. They seem to be more in scale with bbi and Joe weapons than previous series. Which to me is a good thing, but if you liked earlier series, these may seem small.

ACR: My favorite. especially with holosight. I'd prefer the M4 SOPMOD's thinner suppressor, but it'd never fit. Folding stock didn't seem to lock as well as the AK's. Replacing bbi's XM8 as Snake Eyes' goto rifle.
AK74 SU: Very cool. Totally in scale with the Joe AK74 modernized. The purpose built suppressor is amazing and the folding stock locks in position. Lots of ports. Cobra is geting some upgrades!
FN FAL: Very cool. 2 position carrying handle. Although a little tricky with my huge hands.Seems a tad small compared to the other weapons, but it works. Ripcord can finally get armed.
FOS6: Nice m4, but small. It would've been nice if it could accept the ACR's Magpul mags. Lots of ports. 2 stocks!
Galil: My 2nd favorite. Just a great solid weapon. No accessory ports though. But a little work with a pin vice and you're golden. Some may think its small, but seemed in scale with the Galil MAR Law came with.
HK G36K: Good solid gun. Lots of accessory ports. Its going to be one of Firefly's primary weapons along with the TMP
Halo MA5C: I was surprised that Firefly could actually hold it 2 handed. Previous bull-pup type rifles never really worked well.
MP5 Swat: A tad small. The collapsible stock makes it a versatile weapon for those figures that have trouble holding full size guns. 3 ports
M41A Pulse Rifle: Very cool. Very close to the Hot Toys version of the M41, with the Hot Toys being just slightly wider. You have to look close to see the differences. A big upgrade from MJ's first version. No ports.
M1887 Shoutgun: A must for Terminator fans, but only figures with the adjustable wrist will be able to hold it in a combat pose and it still looks akward. I'll have to play with it some more. No ports
Skorpion: Consider it a pistol and its awesome. It may be too small for some figures. Its mag is removable and TINY. No ports
Tec-9: Like the Skorpion, consider it a pistol, its actually about the same size as MJ's glock 17 with extended mag. And its Mag is also TINY. No ports
TMP: My 3rd Favorite. A bit bigger than the Tec-9 or Skorpion. I think its smaller than the MP7, but I have to dig mine out to compare. Firefly looks awesome with it, but he seems to hold it best with the stock folded. I was especially stoked as I got an extra one as my free bonus weapon!
XMLR-3A: A must have for the cartoon fans. Obviously not an exact copy, but in some ways a better version of Snow Job's gun. No accessory ports.

If you're going to get individual weapons, get the deluxe sets. The accessories really add to the weapons.

Wishes for series 8
An M4 type weapon in scale with the ACR. Scale the FOS down or FOS6 up and bingo!

recent MU Punisher needs a new armory... sounds like this series is the treasure trove to make Frank a happy vigilante.

I put a basic set on my holiday wish list. I can't wait for the painted sets to start shipping.

Oh, it seems that series six accessories are extremely loose in the series 7 weapons. I tried a couple of scopes from series 6 in the ACR, and they were loose. They may have to be glued.

I can't wait to get my sets. I have an order in my shopping cart, just waiting to hit the checkout button.

Has anyone gotten their set(s) from the Kickstarter campain...any indication on when these will be shipping?

The only kickstarter sets that have shipped out are the plain black ones. They shipped them out and then put them up on the site for sale. If you ordered a package that included a black set and haven't received it yet, please contact them (international orders may have to wait another week for shipping). Marauder hasn't received the other items from the kickstarter as of yet from the factory.

This wave was well worth the wait. I got my Kickstarter black set a week or two ago, and the new stuff is great. I agree that the TEC-9 is a little small, and the Skorpion (or, as Goldeneye taught me to call it, Klobb) and MP5 probably are, too, but those were the least of my concerns. The G36, TMP and AK-74 are beautiful, and the Galil and FOS6 are just a notch below that. I just got another order with the rest of the wave, and I'm hoping to have a chance to open it tonight. I'm really excited about the pulse rifle: it looks great in the pictures, and it'll make a nice replacement for the Hot Toys ones I've been using (which are also great, except they're molded with the grenade-launcher pump-thing all the way back; nit-picky, but for some reason it's always bugged me a bit).

FOS6 is actually the http://world.guns.ru/assault/de/hk-416-e.html which is far superior to the M-4

The hand pump is a separate piece, that can easily be removed and glued back on in the foreward position. It bugged me too, and I did this with all of mine. Not a single problem with any of them. The grips are molded in a fairly flexible plastic so breakage shouldn't be a problem whatsoever.

Indeed!...and his previous FOS is the HK-417. That one (417) seems over-scale for 1:18, and this new one (416) under-scale. The mag on the new one is also much too narrow. It also seems to represent the short-barreled/compact carbine version (vs. the standard length assault rifle). In fact, MJ seems to have gone with the compact versions of the G36, Ak74, ACR, Galil, and HK416. Maybe it saves on plastic cost? It'd be nice to have the standard version of the latter three (as he did with the first two).

But overall another great, super-detailed wave! It's fun to play gun-smith and mix 'n match with all those attachment points.

But disappointed with the 1887 as well - looks like a toy BB gun in most figs hands (too small!).

I'd like standard sizes too. I think he went compact because they look a little cooler. The Galil is the SAR version, which is the mid-size between the full sized ARM which the original Crankcase came with, and the MAR which the new Law came with. The FOS6 isn't in the right scale. Its mag is like a 9mm mag, it reminded me of the Colt SMG 635 series instead of an AR type mag. If it was in scale, the ACR's mag should fit it as they're supposed to fire the same round. The bbi M4/M203 is still my standard for ARs for Joes.

Exactly! I think on some of wave 7, in an effort to make the mag removable, it makes the mags a bit small (FOS6, MP5, Skorpion, Tec9). Def. looks like a 9mm mag for the FOS6. I think I'll make it the Colt SMG equivalent - I'll use it as a fictional 9mm variant of the HK416, more in the SMG/PDW category.

But the G36C and AK74U look pretty dead-on for scale; prob. the Galil too, since as you reminded me, it's the SAR version. Really love those three! The Halo and Aliens rifles are beautiful as well.

Just curious - is that the M4 you think is most in scale? It's kind of fun/scary to line up all the M4s I have from various lines and see the wild differences in what should be the same scale. I've lost all bearing on what is even close anymore ;-) I think they probably range from 1:24 to 1:15.

I don't know if they're the most in scale, but bbi's were the most consistent across their various weapons. Their G36, XM8 series (which is compatible with MJ's suppressors by the by) and Ruger Mini 14 were all in scale with each other. MJ's M16A2 is big compared to bbi, but its in scale with his M16/M203 combo and early AKs. So if that's all you use, they'll look right. But if you throw in the series 6 FOS or AKM you'll notice differences. If you look at this image Image you can get an idea of some of the submachine guns relative sizes. MJ's TMP and MP7 are close to this picture in relative sizes. Image The various XM8s Image

To me scale is what "looks right". I'm not a scale purist. We've all seen pictures of soldiers with weapons, and we get an idea how they should look with our joes. bbi's weapons look right to me, and since they're in scale with each other, they reinforce the impression of accuracy. For the most part, MJ's series 7 looks right, the FOS6, MP5 and FN FAL seem to be undersized, where most of series 6 was oversized. What helped series 7 for me is that the weapons like the ACR, TMP and Galil looked to be close in scale with both bbi and joe weapons of similar type/scale.
It looks like Series 7's accessories will be more in scale with bbi type weapons. I haven't had a chance to check, but if they look good, I'll break out the pin vice and start making ports.
