On Thanksgiving I saw a link on Facebook that K-Mart had Retaliation figures on sale for $7.49. Any order over a certain amount had free shipping, so I ordered enough to qualify.

I ordered:

5x Lady Jaye
2x Colton
1x Dark Ninja


Flash forward to today. I go to work and my package had arrived. I had to send to my job, since K-Mart wouldn't not send it to my legal address (PO Box).

I open the package and see I was sent:

5x Lady Jaye
1x Colton
1x Dark Ninja
1x Blind Master

That's right, one less Colton and one more Blind Master.

Now, they didn't get my order right, but they did sent me a figure that didn't even show up on the website and was one I never thought I'd find in the wild. I should be peeved just on general principals, right?

Yeah, ultimately you got a Blind Master at the sale price. You're likely to find a Colton elsewhere for less than a Blind Master.

Don't be one of those guys DJ - getting peaved because of the technical definition of the error entitles you. We all run into those people every day. When the error falls in your favor, as here, you chalk one up in the win column. (Would you be peaved if you ordered a cheeseburger from McDonald's and they gave you a Quarter Pounder with Cheese instead, at cheeseburger pricing?)

Pick your battles, and save up your fury for when they shortchange you.

You call in all peeved, best case scenario, they ask you to send in the wrong figure and they send you the right one. But you wanted the wrong one anyway. So you'd be wasting everyone's time for no reason.

One time, back in the 80's, I got a package from Hasbro's mail order service. I hadn't even ordered anything from them. It was five Sunstreakers from Transformers -- and I wasn't even collecting Transformers much at the time, and I can't imagine why anyone would order five Sunstreakers. Nothing wrong with the character, certainly, but it wasn't like he was an army-buildier.

I contacted Hasbro, and they said that since it was their error, to just keep them. I kept one and gave four to friends.

From K-Mart's less than stellar reputation of filling orders with incorrect "alternate" items, I'd say you did pretty well to not only get most of your order correct, but to also have the one error be an error in your favor!

Be happy they only messed up one item and you got something you actually wanted in its place.

K-Mart is notorious for screwing up online orders. You are lucky that you even got GIJoes. I have heard stories of people getting sent items that were not even remotely close to what they ordered.
