Just got issue #200 of GI Joe ARAH, and they said that the letter column is back to stay. Send your emails to letters@idwpublishing.com with the subject line filled in to read "POSTBOX: THE PIT!" and your email could be featured in a future issue of GI Joe A Real American Hero.

Time to start sending letters again! See if they'll print as many of mine as the Marvel title did. :D

Not too long ago I saw your name in one of the old issues!

We actually both had letters published in 123!

Really? Cool!

Also cool! I should go through some of those old issues, but I might find myself embarrassed by my own writing style. Better to do some new ones and see if they'll print them. :-D

Speaking of that Postbox the Pit, I shared this with the Joe Facebook group, but haven't here. After my letter was published in 123, Larry Hama sent me the original pasteboard mock-up of the letters page! Here's a picture of it- my letter is right in the middle (Almon Ellis), and you can see Thomas's on the right.

You know, somewhere around here I think I have one of those from another issue.

EDIT -- Hey, I was right, and it didn't even take too much scrounging to find it. Here's the original paste-up board for the letters page to #143. My letter's the main one in the center column. Sorry about the flash glare.

That's awesome, Thomas- you seem to have taken a little better care of yours. Considering I was 12 when I got mine, I guess I should just be glad its still in one piece. I wonder how many of these are still out there? You've got to figure most kids probably didn't care about it as much as we did. How great is it that at least two lifelong GI Joe fans were lucky enough to get these?

Yeah, I was *ahem* a bit older than that when I got it.

I have this one large, rather flat box -- originally it was used to store light sensitive sheets of film for a printshop I worked for that was part of my church, before we started doing everything on computers. It's great for storing "large paperwork" in. I figured if the letters page was anywhere that would be it.

Who knows how many are out there? Unlike story art pages, the letters pages are basically paste-ups. They might've sent the whole lot of them out over time.

I've also got a letters page for Guardians of the Galaxy (the original future based team), and I have a bound set of storyboards for an episode of the Dungeons & Dragons animated series.
