This probably isn't worth a whole lot, but I was disassembling a Brazilian G.I. Joe figure, one of the Estrela ones, tonight to do a little repair work on it.

Now typically, when I disassemble a G.I. Joe, the screwdriver that I use on the back screw has a magnetic tip in it, and it brings the screw right out once it's loose.

That didn't happen this time. I checked it several times. Whatever metal the screws are made from for the Estrela Joes, they're not magnetic.

Just a curious little observation.

I wonder how many are like that or if it is the entire run.

I have no idea. This was one of the Eco Warriors figures, the Cesspool/Dee-Jay mix. So one of the later figures in Estrela's run.

Are you sure it's the screws?
Sometimes it's just the screwdrivers that have a magnetic tip.

It's got to be the screws. The screwdriver has a functional magnetic tip, and it has no effect on the Brazilian screws. It'll readily pick up any from the American figures (which is useful to me since those darn little things are lost so easily)

No iron in the screws then - whatever metal those screws are, they aren't ferrous.

Could be stainless steel instead of plated.

Yes, they were, and there's something I should check sometime.
