I was at Walmart today and saw a Kid Connection vehicle set I'd never seen before. It was on clearance for $3.97. The thing is it had a knock off VAMP mk 2 in it. Sort of.

It is a single seater, but with a little effort fit Night Fox in it. It is cheap plastic, but does have a two sound electronic button, missle with explosion and machine gun fire.

Nothing else in the set is worth mentioning. The helicopter is practically a shell. And the figure and weapons were all rubbery junk.

You can see it isn't as wide as the VAMP and the bottom of the doesn't have as much clearance.

No gas cans.

Ew. All of the knock-off, none of the personality. The front end is ugly.

i think it has mad max "other vehicle" potential, still too much $$$ even on clearance though

Well, for $4 I'd like to add one to my Vamp website. Did they have any more?

If the VAMP was based on the Cheetah, then this must be based on something by AMC.

It is also included in the new Kid Connection HQ

Hey, the Javelin was a good car!

There are some photos of the HQ set the 'Vamp' comes with currently and a C-130 plane. Both are around $20.

That was my first thought too. But the missile rack on is a dead ringer for the VAMP II rack. I have to think this is still in the knock off realm.

Happened to be in Walmart and I remembered Pluv's mention of that KO vamp so I stopped by the Kid Connection section to get a look.

I could definitely see the differences and similarities up close. I already have a Tiger Force VAMP so I didn't get it.

While there, I saw a new KC soldier set which included drones. Both a self-propelled artillery version and a Reaper-style drone. It was the first time that I had seen them but they may have been released in prior years.

The pictures below are for the benefit of those who may not have seen it. For those that have, bear with me.

The Reaper-style drone is actually larger than the one that comes in the new Corps 3-packs. But, smaller than the larger RPV-style Corps one that is in this thread - viewtopic.php?f=10&t=43289&p=509937&hilit=drone#p509937

The Reaper has a light and sound feature effect. It doesn't have any moveable landing gear but that can always be added. Also, I noticed that it has mounts for 4 missiles but only came with 2. That can be remedied as well by casting or even replacing the existing 2 with Hellfire missiles from model kits.

One other interesting quirk I saw was that the KC soldiers all had the standard side-to-side swivel neck. However, one actually came with an Arah-Style neck ball. I was left thinking why the heck they would do that for one and not the others. While unpacking the rest of the box, I found an insert which illustrated how to pose the sniper and then it all clicked. For a KO brand, you have to give those designers some credit.

For $4.97, I actually found a decently sized drone along with 5 heads that I can dremel and re-use. As with previous KC sets, several of the weapons are oversized (for custom 3.75 Joes) but you also get some items like a slim notebook\laptop, walkie-talkie and other things that are great for re-use.

Hope that this helps folks with some customizing ideas.

Gonna have to keep an eye out for that Drone set. They didn't have that the last time I went.

Was at Walmart and saw this knockoff Cobra Ice Cutter. Didn't buy one, but someone may gave ideas for one.
