There is an App called timehop that searches through your history and shows you posts or pics from years past.

This pic was taken 5 years ago at a TJ Maxx (or marshalls)
What a lovely endcap.

You're trying to convince me to dig out my Joe toys from storage. But it's not gonna work.

IT'S NOT GONNA WORK

Not at all Chief.
Not at all.

But remember the excitement and fun of those early 25th offerings? The RAM. The trouble bubble. The first 25th Viper!

Remember how fun the ROC line was? The skysweeper jet with barrel roll?

That photo is simultaneously cool and depressing.

Eh, my TJ Maxx stores didn't have any of that stuff then anyway. PA toy hunting has always sucked. Still a sad photo, though.

ROC and 25th Singles, comic-packs, ROC vehicles, 25th vehicles, 12" figures, Combat Heroes.
More Joes there than my TRU has had in months......or longer.

I want to cry. :(

I think the 5 year old picture is sadder than the 32 year old picture, because it was such a short time ago.

This is sad because there isn't a single aisle of anything in TRU that is stocked that well right now.

I would have never guessed back then that the toy industry would be in such a sad shape that simple pictures of what toy stores used to look like would be so wondrous.

The idea of going from the G.I. Joe aisle to the Star Wars aisle or the He-Man aisle . . . completely abnormal in a world where you can check the six or so pegs of cool action figures at a glance.

Lego might get that space, but I still don't see them full around here.

Yep, and usually they are empty (especially the Joe peg).

Agreed, it's sad that pictures like BOTH of these bring on happy memories and depression at the same time. As kids, we thought the stores would always be full of the latest/greatest.
