It's interesting seeing some solid numbers on exactly how these break down, with Transformers and Star Wars being the only action figure lines to even warrant noting. Safe bet the Star Wars box will be bigger this year.

I'm real interested to see the MegaBloks numbers for this year now that the new artic format has saturated most of their lines.

Hasbro's other box is really large. No numbers for those?

I prefer Mattel's dolls to Hasbro's. Hasbro's just look off and skinnier.

Yeah I find it interesting they wouldn't split out the Sesame Street and Marvel-related brands from their other lines like games. I figure that Marvel stuff had to outsell Twister and Bop-It!, maybe even Life.

Transformers outselling Star Wars was surprising...until you remember this is 2014. Then, the large Star Wars number for the lack of product on the shelves is truly astounding.

In the end, the most interesting thing to me is the fact that kids toys (Fisher Price and Playskool) are such large pieces of the pie. Were I a toy maker, that's the market I'd be focusing on. (Especially if I'm Hasbro.)

I find it surprising to see that Uno sold $172m.

!! UNO !!

That's a fantastic game. Simple and fun for the whole family.
We often play it when we go to the in-laws.

I wonder if it includes all 500 different variations of it.
Uno-Stacko, Uno-Dice, Uno-Attack, etc.

Edit:
Actually looking at the Wikipedia page for Uno, I think my 'smart-assed guess' number of '500' is WAY too low, compared to how many variations and versions there really are for Uno.

Monopoly collectors must have storage units.

People are still buying monopoly games? Can't you pick up one of the millions made off of ebay or at a garage sale?

It's now abundantly clear why Mattel acquired Mega Bloks.

The future is bright .

And Monster High. WOW. I found the packaging and sculpt of the figures attractive during a recent trip down a toy aisle so i suppose i shouldn't be surprised.

This thing's break-down is kinda crap, regarding the 'Other' category. It's Hasbro's biggest chunk, and they can't even give a number! And what's the li'l pink to the right of Furby? Surely Kreons ranked higher and deserved their own square, right?

I think that is "other girl's toys".
I thought Kreons were cancelled?

Weren't they sold in 2014, and thus are part of the 'Other' square?

How long ago did they pick up Mega bloks? And did they get the whole Mega Brands kit with it?
