......how freaking cool was Quick Kick when we were kids lol?

This thought just came out of nowhere . Yeah snake eyes and storm shadow were THE martial arts guys and there were cooler figures but for a moment Quick Kick was pure 80's amazing . Shirtless karate action with a headband and ninja stars .

Gymkata and American Ninja ha.

Good times lol

*apologies for the brief moment of joe insanity*

I remember when my friend showed up with him, I was all about "cool sword, can I use it?"

was my absolute favorite figures for a good while. only in fairly recent years of joining this forum have I discovered that not everyone loved him as much as me.

I was always amazed at Quick Kick's popularity. I thought the figure was terrible and his weapons were pale imitations of those that came with Stormshadow or Snake Eyes. But, a lot of my friends just loved him. Made it great when we played as they'd pick Quick Kick early so I'd get, basically, my first two figure choices since I would never select Quick Kick.

The blurb on his file card about taking down the fortified villa is "LASER BLAST" awesome. That single paragraph ignited my imagination like you wouldn't believe, and made the character for me.

I chose him over Flint. Never regret.

I liked QK well enough, but he mainly saw action on covert ops missions because he wasn't properly equipped for, say, a massive Arctic battle. So he did a whole lot of 'sneak inside the enemy's base and get the plans' kind of missions.

Remember kids, ya gotta wear the proper footwear if you're going to war.

Oh man. For some reason i always gloss over the fact that he had no shoes on despite the fact that his name was Quick KICK. His foot was involved with the action that was his moniker yet it's always the lack of shirt that I focus on.

Which, btw, i totally accepted and thought was amazingly cool as a kid .

Dodging cobra bullets and side stepping grenades

...Barefoot lol .

His nunchuks though. Magnificent.

I thought the shirtless/barefoot bit was pushing it at the time, but I didn't dislike the character or the figure.

I had a friend who absolutely HATED Quick Kick, but he thought G.I. Joe should be as militarily precise and realistic as possible.

The one thing I like about the modern-style Quick Kick is how his vest has the "Kung-Fu-Grip" logo on it. :D

QK was my G.I.Joe Bruce Lee.
So cool, finally a figure with which you could also fight the epic battles in martial arts movies like Bloodsport, Kickboxer and games like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat.

I had a choice between Quick Kick and Snow Serpent. I got Quick Kick, my brother got the Snow Serpent. He tried to brag to me how cool the AK, mortar and snow shoes were, but every time he'd say something I'd respond with, "Yeah, but nunchuks."

Quick Kick's uniform didn't actually scream modern military battlefield, but would totally work in a dojo setting, a street fight, or other martial arts fight locations.

Take Budo for example. I liked the ARAH Budo's outfit because it took the traditional Samurai look and updated for modern times. It was stream lined and felt like the modern day version.

I think I would use the standard iconic Quick Kick look for the headquarters training sequences, and then maybe swap out a Tracker torso or other similar torso to give him some protection.

Damn you nostalgia. ..

Now I want a Quick Kick figure

Take some time to envision soldiers departing from a C130 In iraq mid day Modern soldiers . Tac combat helmets, assault rifles and vests. And one of the last guys off of the plane .....

Is Quick Kick.
