New at TRU (well, saw it last week). They are calling it a Battleship, but it's more like a beefed up patrol boat. Price is $50.

The top of the bridge comes off to insert figures, and there is a heli-pad on the back. I can really see this next to a USS Flagg.

That's actually pretty cool.
If I had the space to display my Flagg right now, I'd totally get a couple of those for escort ships.
Might grab a couple, if a good sale comes up, for the future when I may actually get the Flagg set up again.

When this eventually shows up in my neck of the woods I will be grabbing it for sure. For shore?

Keeping my fingers crossed that it shows up in Canada. I'll be picking it up for sure if it does.

Any pics anywhere of this thing outside of the box? I want to get a better idea of how big it is. My Flagg does need an escort vessel.

Paint it sparkly and campy and call it the USS Nathan Lane.
Or maybe bulk it up a bit and make it the USS Kevin James.

Has anyone bought this and/or able to provide better pics? For a giant box with all kinds of room for detail photos, it has pretty crappy ones.

Well, one just came into my TRU this week, and I picked it up. It's pretty disappointing. Chap Mei / True Heroes has been doing great with the size and packaging, but when you take it out of the box, the first impression is "bath toy."

This ship is LIGHT. The entire hull and deck is that thin light plastic the sub was made of as well, only the superstructure is Joe-quality plastic. There is a sad lack of detail inside the bridge as well. The light/sound unit for the radar just makes lights and sounds (would have been so much cooler if the dish was motorized) and it's on a tiny peg and keeps falling off.

I wish the entire ship was of the same quality plastic as the superstructure. It seems that after the C-130 they switched to the cheap plastic as a cost-cutting move.

To top it off, the window box packaging sits right on the deck and makes a permanent mark!

The ship was $53 here in PA with tax, which is a terrible value for what you get. It's really only worth $30 at most. I took it right back to the store. Wait for a sale.

Pictures coming soon..
