Why were they discontinued after the Joe movie 1986? |

Like many teams the Marauders had a short release window. Today in my combined Joe team continuity Sgt, Slaughter's Marauders aren't under the Command of the Sarge but under Steeler. Instead of them being the Sarge's special squad I focused on their Unique Armor peices and bestowed that title to my GI Joe Armored Corps. Now the Marauders maintain and deploy all the Medium to Heavy Armored Peices while individual teams can still use light armored peices like the Armadillo or SLAM. List of Vehicles Maintained and Deployed by the Marauders: Wolverine (Mobile Missile Battery) Slugger (Self Propelled 152mm Howitzer) Lynx (Self Propelled 155mm Howitzer) MOBAT LBT (Light Battle Tank) Mauler MBT (Main Battle Tank) Equalizer MBT (Main Battle Tank w/ AA Capabilities) Warthog IFV (Amphibious Transport) Toss N'Cross Bridge Layer Rhino IFV (Helo no longer integrated) |

Hm. That begs the question... Who would take over a squad like the Marauders if Sarge retired or was otherwise out of commission? |
