Who was asking for die-cast statues? I already don't understand the Disney 7" die-cast figures, and those were poseable.

....I understood the larger Unleashed figures from a few years back (I still have the Boba Fett one), but this just seems spiteful and confusing. And could hasbro PLEASE come up with a second word to describe their figures? Black series now refers to 6" figures, super articulated 4" figures, and 4" statues.

These just strike me as clearance fodder. If I'm a collector who wants a display piece, there's a lot of better products out there. If I'm a collector of action figures, these won't even get a second look.

I'm surprised about the negative reaction to these things. They clearly aren't toys, just display pieces. Had they been made by some other company I don't think the outrage would be so significant. Apparently Hasbro can only make toys and games. I actually thing the display with the light is kind of neat. Not $50 neat, but neat. If I can score one cheaper, I might..

My daughter. She's 6. I gave her one of the aliens that came in the BB8 pack, and she was frustrated that he couldn't move his arms sideways like the Batman (DC 4" line) figure I'd given her. See? That wasn't much of a wait.


Because they are selling them under the same banner as their action figures (again, come up with another series name)? Because that seems to indicate that these may be THE 4" offering for the 40th anniversary?

Now the larger display figures I'm fine with. Like I said, I enjoyed the original Unleashed series.

My son would be another. He's 9 now and customizes, so that's not a fair example. But since as young as 4, he's declined figures if they didn't move well enough.

I think these are wonderful figures. No parts to fall off, weapons to lose, no small bits to get chocked on. The perfect gift....to give a dog as a chew toy.

Add my daughter to the list. She is 2 1/2. She has My Little Pony figures, but her favorite is the one that "moves her legs"... it has fully articulated knees and elbows. Also removable shoes.

There's definitely a fine line.

A friend of mine's two kids get frustrated with figures with too much articulation because the figures are less sturdy-- arms popout, limbs warp, etc.

I'll second that. My 5 year old son gets pissed with highly articulated figures. He's happy as a clam with poorly articulated Star Wars figures.

I think the perfect mix for a 5 year old would be sturdy articulation at the neck, shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees. So I guess that's 9 poa. My kid does not like ankle or wrist articulation and doesn't care about torso either.

Absolute crap. I've not purchased a star wars figure since summer of 2015. Hasbro and disney have both in their own ways killed my passion for star wars. It's sad, there was so much left for them to do, and now it may never happen.

Honestly, I think the best articulation mix for a kid would be ARAH but without a fragile o-ring. I agree that ankle and wrist are for collectors (and mid-thigh is for action figure designers who feel life has wronged them). ARAH Joes were my favorite as a kid for a reason. I hated the Star Wars figures, despite loving the characters, because they couldn't do anything except lurch at each other like Frankenstein with their arms straight out.
