Looking for recommendations on what version of adult Groot in 4 inch scale is the best.

I picked up the new Rocket/Groot set at Target. Groot is the better figure.

I wanna get another and make a Grootbacca, aka young Chewbacca.

For 4" scale I think this is the only sculpt option:

Maybe there was a con/box set with a different head, but there's not a movie style body in that scale (I think).

Comic- The comic pack//boxed set one.
Movie- The action feature one from the first movie or the new Infinity War less-articulated 6(ish) inch line.

been playing around with this for a couple years. There was a cheap action feature Groot from the first movie that had a decent head for 1:18. I had been using it on that comic uniform figure shown in this thread.

I did just get the teen groot Infinity War figure, and while it would be too large to be 1:18 teen groot, with the head I just mentioned, it kind of works, albeit in a skinny way. I'll post pics in a bit

Yeah I tried that one also. If you’re into any kind of “realism” with your talking trees, this one is a swing and a miss. Too smooth and plasticy. I decided he’d take an entirely new surface sculpt to work which is why I’m still looking elsewhere.

My son actually has that 5 inch Groot. And I agree Drbindy, it needs texture, which I may try. There appears to be a real hole out there for a movie adult Groot in 4 inch scale. I like the larger movie version but at 8 inches tall it’s just too big.

I think if you want a movie-style adult Groot in 4-inch scale, you're going to have to customize him.

I used the head from that action feature toy on a heavily modified comic 2-pack body to make this:
