I'm a big fan of Joe knockoffs, and I've spent a lot of time hunting for them. But I've never come across one of these: it's clearly based on a Remco American Defense/U.S. Forces/etc. mold, but the leg pads and the molded-on holster are something I haven't seen before. Is this a knock-off of a knock-off? If anyone here has seen one of these fellows before, I'd love to know where you found it and where it comes from.

Im leaning towards knockoff of a knockoff. Its pretty great though. I love weird knock offs. I just got a Hat Trick Lemonade the other day and its easily my favorite weird figure.

Those weird elongated elbows are probably going to be the identifier, I can't think of any lines that had ones like that.

It's certainly an interesting mystery figure.

Oh yeah, that's a neat one.

There's a good Bootleg/Knockoffs Facebook group that might be able to help.

The more I look at this guy, the more I fall in love with the figure. I'm very tempted to buy it and examine it in hand, just to see if I can get any more hints about its origins. I'll definitely check out that Facebook group; thanks for the heads-up to its existence!

I'm thinking it's a knock-off of a knock-off, too, and if so, that makes it even cooler.

And, Hat Trick Lemonde is an amazing figure! Lanard got into such a weird area with the designs (and the names) around that time; they really turned out some masterpieces.

Yeah man, Ive been living on ebay for the past couple weeks and there are so many crazy Lanard figures Ive never seen. I also saw a Remco I want. Slugger! meme figure for sure.

Hell yes: Slugger is a personal favorite, too. Nothing says "elite fighter" like a skin-tight shirt with your own codename on it. The batting gloves were a nice touch. The Remco guys are definitely my favorite knock-offs, and there are still a ton of them that I don't have.

I always loved the covert ops guy with "Spy" on his shirt.
Nowadays that would be seen as ironically meta.

Yeah, that Spy dude is one of the funniest figures I've ever seen. I rarely keep figures on their cards, but if I ever find a carded one of those, I'm displaying the living hell out of it.
