in two different ebay purchases I got 2 different scale ALIEN figure and a dio piece.

seller listed this as a neca 7" scale dog alien. it's about 9" tall and missing 1 forearm/hand.

I boiled and popped the head to use on my skull wall.

I thought I was getting another one about that size, but it ended up being about 14" tall. i'm having trouble figuring out what brand it is. I think it is way too small for the neca 1/4 scale alien.
some notable features are:
spring loaded inner jaw w/puch button release. not like the classic kenner figures I have seen.
bendable/poseable rubber tail
lots of articulation
clear looking ball joints
peg on underside of 1 foot (possibly to a base?)

it was missing a hand, and got here with a broken off foot.

the dio piece is a "space jockey" but is a minimates scale I think. I bundled it with the big guy just to use as fodder. it was so small next to the big alien I thought it was left out.

I might try to repair or customize the big guy to resell. his head is too big for my trophy wall!

still no luck finding which make the 14" is, no markings I can find on it. I did see a lot of hot toys aliens that say 14" is 1:6 scale, is that right? it has more articulation than the hot toys i'm seeing though. bends at knees and rotates mid thiegh. it looks the most like a big chap, but you can't see the skull through the top/front.

the 9" isn't a dog alien for sure.

I read up on the space jockey. it was in the original concept art and first movie .then in later books/games. jockey=pilot. neat stuff.

and I found it. I believe it is a McFarlane 12" alien. I should of known from the broken joints! much like the kiss figures toys meant to stay in the box on a shelf.

looks like art restore or parts for him.

so I didn't strike rusty gold, but I think I got a decent deal on a big project or giger dio fodder etc.

I also discovered this blog.
https://www.hideousplastic.com/

I poured through it and saw so much that I never knew about. there is a lot of alien content there. that original big alien would be awesome to stumble on! I also contacted the blog author and he was great. he helped me ID my pieces and gave me advice. just a great guy!
