Post subject:  Cobra Hiss Tank (original): assembly required?

I've seen a retro Hiss unboxing video and something ...seemed off.

I owned 1 Cobra Hiss Tank (original) during childhood. I think I acquired it in trade with neighbourhood kids so I missed out on the NIB experience (or at least don't recall it).

Did the original hiss tank come in parts like other gi joe vehicles that needed to be assembled or was it ready to roll right out of the box? If so how many separate pieces? The retro unboxing videos I've seen show the top portion (main body) and the lower portion (treads/tracks) connecting but ...for some reason I recall the original hiss tank top portion being further spit in 2 halves (a top and bottom that pegged or clicked into place).

I don't recall my younger self assembling that specific vehicle but i *do* recall another one in pieces. Maybe it was a junker mixed in with a trade or from a yard sale.

Mine came mail order, so it was bagged, but I'm sure it was the same as the boxed version. It had:
1. The treads (already together and had the wheels in place)
2. The chassis
3. The canopy
4. The turret
5. The guns
6. The little lock piece (to secure the guns to the turret).

The Pit lists the top as two parts. It definitely wasn’t ready to roll right out of the. That didn’t happen until the modern releases.

According to the instructions (https://www.yojoe.com/images/resize/w/M ... ctions.jpg) the chassis was one piece, already put together. The instructions never skipped a step like that, no matter how obvious.

Thank you both!

The link Pluv provided is how i recall it for some reason despite my being reasonably sure I didn't own one MIB as a child.

I need to find a vintage unboxing video ...
