First, they moved the movie opening date (again) up to July 23rd. That's pretty big news putting it mid summer instead of the fall. Second, no 4" news at all. Not sure if the scale is dead or just not discussed, but no news in this case is not good. Third, Movie Classified Figures based on the Snake Eyes movie including actor likeness real scans. These are screenshots but expect Hasbro official shots later today from all the news sites. Storm Shadow Unmasked Attachment: Baroness Attachment: Scarlett (comes with her crossbow) Attachment: Akiko (spelling?) A new character created for the movie Attachment: Special guest unboxing by Henry Golding. Attachment: Attachment: He revealed a bit of a movie spoiler so I'll hide it in spoiler text. Couple of official pics from FB Attachment: Attachment:

Yay, it looks like a G I Joe movie where neither G I Joe or Cobra is featured, just what we always wanted! If this turns out to be a legit martial arts film, I can forgive that, but I'm betting it's just going to be rapid cut / shakey cam shenanigans with a few GI Joe name checks sprinkled in. I can't believe they find new ways to make all black and all white costumes look MORE bland. |

It was solely focused on the movie product. No regular Classified line reveals either, just the movie line. So I wouldn't lament the 4" retro line just yet. |

Nothing rally new in the Hasbro packet as far as pics or product. But worth showing the masked SS. Attachment: ss fanfest 1.jpeg [ 20.19 KiB | Viewed 1627 times ] Attachment: ss fanfest 2.jpeg [ 21.46 KiB | Viewed 1627 times ] |

Figures aside for a moment I'm genuinely curious as to whether there is a market for...Ninjas or ninja films in this day and age. The genre seems so dated and one step removed from Gymkata. I look forward to seeing how they are modernized and made relevant. |

a ninja movie would need to be campy and weird like a quentin tarantino flick to get my attention. |

What about a ninja commando movie? John Wick with more swordplay? Jason Bourne with more explosives? Yeah, I think there's still room for a movie like that. |

I have very little faith in this movie, and am even less interested in these toys. That said, I will probably still go see the movie in theatres, and hope to be pleasantly surprised. |

The John Wick reference is an interesting one to me as ..i watched the first film and recall thinking it was amusing / decent. I believe i watched 1/2 of the 2nd film and my lady and i were asking "Why?" through out. There's only so many gun fights and so much shooting at other human beings that can hold my attention (this coming from the guy that loves Starship Troopers lol). Yet a John Wick type movie with swords and ninjas , which the GI Joe film may be, might be similar to the Blade movies....which i liked. Hm. |

I think the problem is John Wick and Blade are both solidly R films. I don't know how you thread the kid/adult audience needle like the Marvel movies managed to do with the Joe property. |
