Well, I'm glad that the Super7 figures are not 1:18 because they are beautiful. Even if I collected other scales, I couldn't drop $55 a pop on them.

The ReAction 1:18 are problematic. Like all ReAction figures, I understand that going "1970's Star Wars" articulation style is the point. However, GI Joe figures need knee articulation at the very least. If Kenner could make MASK figures with 7 POA in the 80's they need to now.

That said, I love the simplistic sculpting on these. I haven't collected since ROC, but I think this will pull me back in, at least for a minute. Dammit.

Nah man, it looks like there is both the 7in Ultimates and a 3 3/4in Reaction set. Pics are from Full Force but I had to drop them to make the size limit.

the card art looks great until you see them all together like that, you would think for the price they could vary the trooper cards a bit more than skin tone and weapon. every cobra trooper is pointing off into battle, and the green shirt joes are all left handed :) i have heard people say before that the reaction figures are meant to be kept on card, that is the real purpose. it wouldn't cost them much to print multiple card backs. they could even do "chase" or "ultra rare" lol

i'd just about rather have 4" statues if they had dynamic poses. my only dive into reaction was my "pulp simpsons" project and it was frustrating trying to take any kind of dio pics. so i'm not in the market for anything but heads or accessories.

wouldn't using these to fill in vehicles cost more than buying regular joes?

The Ultimate Joe figures look nice. Fortunately i have no interest in the scale ($55 per!). The ReAction figures are certainly charming as well but i'm not spending $18 per only to take a Dremel to them later and add articulation.

5x 3 3/4'' Cobra Troopers in 5pt of articulation ReAction style = @ $90 USD + shipping *assuming the figures are $18 USD each

6x TRU o-ring style Cobra Infantry Forces w/ full articulation = @$130 USD (or less) + shipping on ebay

1x TRU o-ring style Cobra Infantry Forces w/ full articulation = @$20 USD + shipping on ebay

1x Black Major (?) Cobra trooper (aka 1983 style cobra "the enemy" figure) = @$30 shipped

Is this the entry point for someone looking to get into vintage style / cartoon accurate GI Joe product? Sheesh. No wonder people bootleg or 3d print.

I might get one or two if I come across them just to say I have one in the collection, but yeah, $18 is too much for something worse than we already have.

I can see the appeal of the troopers, although how many people are going to army build with a 5 POA, under-sized figure for $20?

Cartoon accurate? That's nice and cool and everything, but I'll add $4 or so and get a 1/12 scale Classified Joe instead.

The Ultimates will have some desirability for those that are "purists" in the scale, wanting EXACT reproductions of original toy or cartoon designs.
However the high price will probably keep many away, except for the BAT. It will be the most in-demand of any of them. Again, for the money ($55?!) I could get TWO Classified figures......assuming I could FIND 2 Classified figures.

And remember, these won't even be out until sometime next year, AND they are taller than most other 1/12 lines (7"). Plus, I've heard many bad things about Super 7.

Love the cartoon style. If the lines are cartoon based, then I would have replaced Kwinn with a character from the Mass Device series, Stalker or the blind hermit would have been awesome.
The arena gladiator would have been an original character to make. The line is just starting, so there's a lot to hope for.

Cobra Space Troopers!!!
I just wish that the troop builders had L shaped right arms like the old Action Force figures to hold their weapons with two hands.

The only thing I love about this is that we have solid casters in the community who will make those heads availble for less than $20 per figure.

During the Gamesmaster episode Cobra Commander was captured by a group of them.

i bet we see lots of adventure team arctic explorer customs using the sled w/dogs. it seems to be priced fairly well compared to one of their single figures. i'd like to get just one dog for the animal sidekick collection ,but beyond that i'm not a player.
