I'm trying to figure out what could be considered the worst combination of ugly ARAH parts. In the end I want to compose a figure of those parts and challenge myself to customize and paint it to make it look more acceptable, sometime in this new year. (Perhaps more customizers want to join me in this challenge, then we could make it a community project.) I already made a list myself of parts which I think aren't favorite of most collectors. The parts required to come from "regular" figures, so no Cobra La, Star Brigade aliens or Street Fighter. They also had to be easily available or kinda cheap, I don't want to buy the expensive Cobra Air Devil and take it apart for this. Some obvious parts are left out, because I already have a WIP laying around including that part (Annihilator head and Track Viper for example). You can vote on three options. This poll is about arm sculpts only. |

Again, I don't have a problem with any of these specific arms. Although using the Eel v2 arms for someone who isn't a diver would require some biography acrobatics for sure. |

I like all the other arms except Eel v2. |

All of the arms fit the characters they are on but.... Voltars Michelin man arms would be a challenge to take seriously on a custom. |

This one is tough! I went with Voltar, but I actually kind of like the Voltar figure, partly because I love the 88 lineup in general, and he has some residual good will as a result. But what really struck me is how subjective the arms are: the ones that jump out at me as being particularly bad (Night Creeper and SAW-Viper) are nowhere to be found here, and several of the ones that are on the list aren't pieces that I thought of as being notably bad. The other categories have some consensus missteps, but this one is harder to pin down. |
