Who do you mean by their primary competitor? Based on the mech in the second image, looks like these will be repaints/rehashes of the Soldier Force stuff. Hopefully there will be a few new pieces here and there. |

IMO Lanard is / was Chap Mei's primary competitor. The waters have been slightly muddied since Final Faction debuted. Some might view the Chap Mei KO's as competitors in the budget / "value" category but the quality is so abysmal on most IMO that i don't agree with that. To be honest...i'm actually getting significant "Lanard Corps! vibes" from the 2nd image. It's difficult to consider Power Team Elite (World Peace Keeper / "Click N Play") as a primary competitor because i don't come across them anywhere but online and very rarely as new product. In fact when it comes to military figures ...the only product i come across in person regularly that's a tier above the bottom of the barrel army figures are these guys: https://www.amazon.ca/Toyvian-Military- ... 67&sr=8-27 Which i believe are themselves Chap Mei (?) KO's lol. The Soldier Force toys have caught my eye on the rare occasion that i venture into a Toys R Us. At a different time in life i'd have bought the T5 (Falcon) Command Jet set , which i initially thought was a KO of Lanards Harrier Hawk jet long ago, or the Exobot Mech set but not now. However if they release the new generic robots pictured in the teaser image above ....i'd likely bite. |

Ah, yeah, I was wondering if you meant Lanard but I was thinking Final Faction since they haven't really announced anything lately. Those are indeed KOs of Chap Mei figures -- they were a line they did for TRU US back when they were still a thing. I always liked Chap Mei for their vehicles and the figures were a great source for additional heads for 1:18 customs. Some of the bodies were even good for modifying to add articulation to, as well. |

One of the most memorable toys from the last .... 20 years was the Chap Mei Gargoyle that i owned at one point. I regret parting with it in this age of expensive kaiju toys. Are you seeing Lanard similarities in that second Chap Mei teaser image? I swear the character on the left reminds me of Rain from the Corps! . The center and right side characters both look (feel?) like recent Lanard figures as well. |

I've considered Lanard more the understudy of GI Joe than Chap Mei. Final Faction is ore of a successor to the Chap Mei throne of 5poa goodness. As for the new line here, I do look forward to it. We seem to be getting some new Robots which is always good. And the humans that we can see seem nice. And they have a Boston Dynamics style doggo and it'll seemingly be out before the one from Operation Recall. My biggest hope is they tone down the size of the weapons to a size that better fits the scale. Well that and that they rerelease the ninja animals. |

recent Lanard Corps have been copying Chap Mei to their detriment since Walmart & other retail no longer wants to carry them |

A new teaser image has been posted. A close up of the BETA robots ... *shrugs* I wouldn't turn this down if offered.

It seems as though the BETA Robots are using Neuralink lol. Maybe they're cyborgs like the 80's Gobots |

Goldbug wrote: recent Lanard Corps have been copying Chap Mei to their detriment since Walmart & other retail no longer wants to carry them Sorry, that's backward! Chap Mei has been copying Lanard since the introduction of Total Soldier (V-1) not v2, with their Soldier Force, then they copied S.T.A.R. Force with their space series. Chap Mei has gotten into a lot of trouble lately over design theft. If anyone here has a doubt, all you have to do is take a look at their low-cost rescue series that chap mei offered Walmart. that set featured a modified design that Chap Mei lifted straight from the Lanard Corps! brand and although the design was modified, *( See Attachment) Chap Mei and the factory in question that participated were heavily fined as a result. This latest Chap line is no different, the only thing consistent with chap mei is their ability to copy.

A larger image of the bots has been posted on the Chap Mei FB page. Some have said they look like Fresh Retro MP 03 figures. I see the similarity. They look good. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_ ... 5761&mibex

Wait, is that... articulation I'm seeing? I didn't know Chap Mei knew how to articulate a humanoid figure, even if a robot. Also, wonder if those heads are one piece or if the red piece is separate from the rest of it. If it's separate, I'm seeing cockpit potential for some smaller figures... |
