I made this thread on the old board (back when it was /board instead of /forums) but a lot has come out and stuff so it's time again to share unpopular opinions you got. Don't flame people for thinking differently just think it.

Mine are:
The G.I. Joe movie will either be terrible (like the Street Fighter live action movie) or pretty okay, however I think the movie continuity should probably become the new de facto Hasbro continuity, as if Ripcord as a toy is white and in the movie has 6 less talented siblings, it's going to confuse the children who apparently keep the line alive.

The Action Force comics were way better. When in Marvel did Hitler show up and fight Major Bludd? That's right never.

The 1985 headball joints aren't a great improvement

The 25th Mid-torso joints aren't a great improvement

The Dreadnoks were pretty cool outside of the fact they were lead by a guy who didn't wear a shirt, and were either a leatherman or had bad hair or were a car driving Bobby Steele.

Gung Ho should put on a shirt

Mixing lines (corps! and joe, or Joe and New Sculpt Joe or Joe and 25th joe) is goofy and awkward looking. Vehicles are okay.

ARAH is better than new sculpt or 25th, proportions-wise and play-wise.

Whoever gets the GIJoe comic book liscence needs to do a full continuity reboot much like both Dreamwave and IDW did when they got the Transformers liscence. Don't know if this is unpopular though.

I also agree with your opinion that mixing lines is goofy and awkward-looking. Whenever I read General Hawk's dios I'm constantly distracted by this strange mix of unmatching proportions...

Huh? That's ridiculous. I don't want a Big Lob figure. He was a "LASER BLAST" concept for a character, but that has nothing to do with his race - just poor writing. If I don't want a Pythona figure either does that mean I hate women? And if I hate Billy, I must discriminate against the handicapped? Uh oh, I also think that a Mangler figure would be a complete waste of plastic, so I must hate white people too... crap, I hate everybody!

I'm sorry, but that's just dumb. Not everything ties in to everything else. One thing quite often has nothing to do with the other.

I don't have any interest in a Big Lob figure, but my favorite Joe of all time is probably Stalker, if I had to pick just one. How does that work if I'm a racist?

On to other opinions:

I think the upcoming movie could mean the end of Joes as we know it, the same way that the introduction of 3 3/4" Joes appealed to a different generation than the 12" collectors.

For Mike: Some of us have a love for collecting AND are great at shopping.

I don't want a Big Lob figure. I'd probably buy him if he was in one of those new DVD sets, but I don't really want him. Now I do want a new Fridge figure, so what would that make me, hehe?

I don't know about anything "unpopular" I have about G.I.Joe. I'm a big fan of Snake Eyes while many are tired of him I guess. I like the Earthquake a lot, just not the colors. I like Super Trooper and Rapid Fire. I don't know if those are nessarily unpopular opinions though.
