THis is an idea I have been kicking around since the begining of the 25th. A conversation with Doc Rob kind of kicked my but to get it pretty well started. I am still codeing the pages and uploading pics as I write this but its near completion (for this segment of it anyway).

Basicly its just me doing a writeup of the figures that I own and going through the various versions as well as memories ect. Basicly this is my version of a 25th ann.

So I hope you enjoy this labor of love. With everything happening lately I wondered if I would get it off the ground, at this point I am not sure how far with this I will go (since 25th are so hard to find where I am at) but the intention is to do this with as many of the 25th as I can find.

Some of this was written a while back so keep that in mind as you read.

I have completely finished Gung Ho, Scarlett and Roadblock

should have Snake Eyes Commando, Cobra Commander, Baorness, Destro and Storm Shadow totally finished within the hour. Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy.

Nice read! So cool that you still have your original CC in that condition. you must have played with a lot, and still no broken stuff.

I agree with some, disagree with others. Battlecorps Roadblock has to be my favourite, and I have always had a thing for v1 Scarlett (straight arm of course).

I like it. Those group shots a neat.

Why didn't you inlcude the unmasked mail in version of Storm Shadow for this discussion though? Getting rid of the pea sized head makes that version of the character even better. I don't think we needed every single version fo every character for this but that one is a noticable absence since it is the one of the only times we've seen his face unmasked. The Vietnam era compic pack version being the other.

Actually I don't have him and as I was typing this up I had completly forgotten about him (keep in mind stormy's review was quite a long one).

I really had no interest though. I just didn't like the fig, I suppose I could add something about that, will work on it later.

I did always ment to get the veitnam comic pack one though, never could find it.

This is great stuff, Zed. I like the added bits of information touches in the Storm Shadow review; it's the sort of thing that piques my curiosity and makes me go hunting for more info to satisfy it. Good use of humor in there too (the whole convoluted storyline thing--I remember finally getting to read the comics only a few years back and going "Huh?" as I tried to follow that whole thing) but best of all it's good to see your honest opinion there done in a way that doesn't sound either like shilling or some staid form-letter style; makes for a good read with a few laughs (the AA Stormy reference cracked me up--I think you were in good company with a lot of folks crying over how badly they did that one.)

Again, great stuff! :-D

BTW--I agree wholly with you on the definitive Scarlett. That comic pack version just was her, while the others were little better than pale imitations.

Rob, that was the main thing about stormy back in the day, he was so appealing due to the Ninja craze that was really gaining steam, I remember it vividly. I really think Stormy is responcible for giving Joe so much mometium the following years (If you recall things really picked up after that. Also why I think his story got so comvouted but I digress.

Cool, my intentions were to be as honest as possible without leaning to negitive at the same time. Obviously something led me to Joes, so even if I am giving some negitives, there had to be positives. I tried to make sure that I gave the profiles straight and honest opinions that were my own and not pre-packed reviews as well. Like I said this is memories and thoughts that grab me with these characters, what is apealing and what isn't.

You know I never realized until that profile how convoluted my relationship with Scarlett was over the past 25 years, man things I do for women

He and Breaker are two of the few orignal joes I have in such good condition. The rest that I still have in good condition have been fixed, but CC and Breaker are all in thier original glory.

Hopefully I will have Hooded CC, Ninja Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow GI Joe up soon as well.

cool great site, i like comparing/contrast types of reviews it helps me decide what i should buy, or rather buy more of. Someone pointing out a bit I hadn't noticed is always a good thing.

Good stuff, Zed. I like (what I think is) the typo in the Destro; "leopard sin" is certainly an appropriate description for a pimp!

I'll never forget the first time I saw the Destro v1 figure (and actually it was the first time I ever heard of the character, period.) My friend just received him for his birthday and he told me it was the new Darth Vadar. :-)
