so, today is the last day i'm a member of the club. other than the newsletter, is
there a reason to re-up today vs. later, especially since i'm not going to the con,
and have not (yet) been convinced to buy the con set?

But the date to get the robot rebellion CC free figure has expired so right now may not be the best time to renew. If you renew now you'd get next year's free figure, but you could wait to see it first. If you do end up wanting the con set, you'll find it costs the same to renew and order them at the same time as it does to renew and order seperately.

I'm not saying don't ever renew, I'm just saying you may want to wait until you see a reason to.

Yep, just as pluv said. By the time my membership runs out, they should have the new club figure up. So yeah you may want to wait until later to rejoin if you like the new figure. I'd say next year may be a good time to be a member though since the movie is coming out. I'd assume the club will have some offerings that you'll only see there or at least see it first.

For the figure set, it's sounding like there will be extra sets around that people will be selling. I guess I will too if I pay full price for my wife. Plus if you buy the con sets from others, you'll get the convention vehicles along with the set if they're offered. Something you won't get by just buying from the club.

If your membership expires today, then you should still get the CC figure. The cut off date was March 16th which is about the same time every year. If you are a member as of that date (which we were) you get the figure. After March 16th and you get next years figure.

If you are not going to con and still arn't sure about getting the con figures through mail, just wait. The newsletter is obviously not worth the paper it is printed on so there really is no reason to renew now. If you decide to get the con figure set, then do it.
