Good thing they're removable.

Better... but I'm still not loving it like the classic ones. And those lower arms are still screwed up. :-/

I'm partial to the no goggle look, so I'm glad they're removable.

I still love it, though I'm not so sure about the goggles. I'm sure it will look betterin person than pictures though.

And I LOVE variation in my ranks, so it'll be neat to have Vipers with and without goggles :D

I think that picture makes the figure look soooo much better. I'm going to love this one.

You know what i just thought of?

The helmet may be removable and you can put the goggles on the head under it 8-O 8-O 8-O 8-O How cool would that be?

It'd be nice if they'd take some more shots of the rest of the wave.

I'm pretty sure that the goggles can be appropriately positioned on the Viper's head. I think what most people will [LASER BLAST] about when these babies hit the stores is the prepositioned hands.

It looks like they're meant to make it easier for the Viper to hold it's rifle, but that remains to be seen, I guess.

Ze goggles. They do nothing!

Except, of course, provide EXCELLENT fodder for so many projects. Mad Scientist Experimentin' Mindbender. Steampunk stuff. Etc, etc.

Plus I thought the Viper looked weird with a normal helmet. No matter how nonsensical the goggles may have been (ignoring that they were likely meant to be there for when the Viper took of his helmet), the figure just didn't look right without them.

This is the kicker. No matter how silly goggles over a faceshield is, the unadorned helmet just looks so wrong. It's sad.

Wasn't there an issue of the comic that had a Viper driving a vehicle who had the face shield removed from his helmet? I seem to remember that's where I got the idea for this custom:

http://www.joecustoms.com/customs/customs_specific_item.php?kind=figure&alpha=S&page=8&id=120

It would make sense to have the goggle if they can remove the shields (not that the figure will have a removable shield, mind you).

Overall, it's a pretty slick figure, but I won't go nuts with him like I am with the basic Cobra troops.

I highly doubt it but I really hope his helmet is removable that way the removable goggle make even more sense! Even though they'd be way too big to fit on the helmetless head...either way finding 10 of these bad boys is going to be a chore :-x

Wow, nice custom. The issue was the Special Missions one with the dogfights over Cobra Island. The driver was right there in the splash page and in a few panels after that, driving a cobra-like-shaped limo of a short.

I've been looking at the pics up over on tni and I'm kinda worried about the arms on this guy. Looks like Hasbro has modified the elbow joint to bend more (looks kinda weird in the pic) and the wrists will suffer from the same issue as the Duke arms.

Yo Joe & Hisstank have had sightings of the TRU 5-Packs over the weekend, in CA.
