How the heck is the sales tax that high? Is it possible they made a mistake calculating it? If so, I'd call customer service and complain. Who knows, maybe they'll give you a discount code or something to use next time for your trouble.

I'm going to assume they taxed you on the TOTAL w/ Shipping.

Even if they did charge sales tax on the shipping, that's still close to 17% sales tax. I don't know of any state that's that high!

Sure, Mike™, but even with shipping, that over 15% sales tax. Here in Tennessee, we have almost 10% sales tax. Its considered one of the higher state sales taxes, since we don't have a state income tax. +15% sounds like a mistake.

It's double the price on the site. Somewhere it must of added another one to your order.
Contact them and find out. The site could be automatically double billing you - unless someone tells them, they won't know.

It's a good chance too they're going to pull that "our inventory made a mistake and that item is not available". I hate Toys R Us' website. I never get the items I try to get.

They are both showing "Temporarily Unavailable Online At This Time" now. I was going to check and see if I got the same sales tax error you did. Yeah that sales tax is seriously f'd up. Its almost like they doubled the sales tax or charged you sales tax for both the state its shipping from AND the state its going to.

Suddenly, the idea that Hasbro Toy Shop will soon be shipping to Canada is somewhat less appealing.

Also, unless I am mistaken, unless you're in the same state as the location where the TRU website is located, you shouldn't pay any sales tax at all.

I get charged tax by them, K-Mart, Target, Best Buy, Circuit City, and any other major online store. Amazon, HasbroToyShop, and other like that are the only ones I don't get charged tax. It's one of the things that keeps me from ordering from those sites unless it's just too hard to find the item or it's cheap enough that all the extra costs don't matter so much.

It all got messed up last year when Congress refused to extend the internet sales tax freedom act (or whatever the name of it was). Now states can tax stuff if they feel like it and no one can stop them. A lot of online vendors randomly charge tax "just in case."

It's all a big mess.

I go the same screw job too. Exactly the same price as yours. I live in south florida. I'm really thinking of returning these when i get them and demand my money back. This is just an absurd amount. So i guess as they fill the rest of my order i'll keep getting charge this crap each time. No way.ARGHHH!
